Systems and methods of dispensing telecommunications cable from a network component are provided. A system includes a housing, an axle, and a spool. The housing defines an interior region and includes a cable storage portion and a mounting surface defining a receptacle. The axle is configured to removably attach to the receptacle. The spool is configured to be disposed on the axle, and has a first flange proximal to the mounting surface and a removable second flange distal to the mounting surface when the spool is disposed on the axle. The spool has a drum portion configured to support a coiled fiber optic cable and dispense the fiber optic cable as the spool rotates on the axle. Undispensed cable can be removed from the spool with the second flange removed. The cable storage portion of the housing is configured to receive the undispensed coil.

What is claimed is: 1. An optical fiber enclosure for paying out and storing fiber optic cable, comprising: a housing including a base portion and a door portion and being configured to define an interior; an axle configured to be removably coupled with the base portion; a retainer configured to be selectively coupled with the axle at different positions along a length of the axle; wherein the base portion includes a mounting portion and a cable storage portion, and wherein the mounting portion is configured to include a receptacle; wherein the door portion is configured to be hingedly coupled with the base portion so as to be movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration; wherein the axle is configured to removably receive a spool of fiber optic cable; wherein the retainer is configured to be selectively coupled with the axle at the different positions along the length of the axle so as to accommodate spools of differing widths or adjust a clamping force on the spool; and wherein the removability of the axle permits the axle to receive a spool that is larger than an interior of the housing. 2. The optical fiber enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to define a bearing surface for a first hub of the spool; and wherein the retainer is configured to define a bearing surface for a second hub of the spool. 3. The optical fiber enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to protrude from the base portion and into the door portion when the door portion is in the closed configuration; and wherein the mounting portion is configured to define a bearing surface that is disposed outside of the base portion. 4. The optical fiber enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the door portion is configured to be prevented from being moved to the closed configuration when the axle is coupled with the receptacle. 5. The optical fiber enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to protrude from a first half of the base portion and the cable storage portion is disposed in a second half of the base portion separate from the first half; and wherein the cable storage portion of the housing is configured to receive an undispensed coil of fiber optic cable from the spool. 6. An enclosure for paying out cable from a spool, comprising: a housing including a base portion that is configured to include a mounting portion that defines a receptacle; a spool receiving structure configured to be removably coupled with the receptacle; a retainer configured to be selectively coupled with the spool receiving structure at different positions along a length of the spool receiving structure; wherein the spool receiving structure is configured to receive a spool of cable; wherein the retainer is configured to be selectively coupled with the spool receiving structure at the different positions along the length of the spool receiving structure so as to accommodate spools of differing widths or adjust a clamping force on the spool. 7. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the housing further includes a door portion configured to be hingedly coupled with the base portion so as to be movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. 8. The enclosure of claim 7 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to protrude from the base portion and into the door portion when the door portion is in the closed configuration; and wherein the mounting portion is configured to define a bearing surface that is disposed outside of the base portion. 9. The enclosure of claim 7 , wherein the door portion is configured to be prevented from being moved to the closed configuration when the spool receiving structure is coupled with the receptacle. 10. The enclosure of claim 7 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to protrude from a first half of the base portion and a cable storage portion is disposed in a second half of the base portion separate from the first half; and wherein the cable storage portion of the housing is configured to receive an undispensed coil of fiber optic cable from the spool. 11. The enclosure of claim 10 , wherein the cable storage portion comprises storage clips arranged in radial symmetry. 12. The enclosure of claim 10 , wherein the cable storage portion is in an interior region of the housing; and wherein the mounting portion is in an interior region of the housing. 13. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the mounting portion is configured to define a bearing surface for a first hub of the spool; and wherein the retainer is configured to define a bearing surface for a second hub of the spool. 14. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the retainer is configured to adjustably apply drag to the spool. 15. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the retainer is configured to be removably attached to the spool receiving structure without use of a tool. 16. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the spool receiving structure is configured to be removably attached to the receptacle without use of a tool. 17. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the spool receiving structure is configured to be coupled with the receptacle by engaging a locking structure. 18. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the spool receiving structure is configured to be threadedly coupled with the receptacle. 19. The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the removability of the spool receiving structure permits the spool receiving structure to receive a spool that is larger than an interior of the housing. 20. An enclosure for paying out cable from a spool, comprising: a housing including a base portion that is configured to include a mounting portion; a spool receiving structure configured to be removably coupled with the mounting portion; a retainer configured to be selectively coupled with the spool receiving structure at different positions along a length of the spool receiving structure; wherein the spool receiving structure is configured to receive a spool of cable; wherein the retainer is configured to be selectively coupled with the spool receiving structure at the different positions along the length of the spool receiving structure so as to accommodate spools of differing widths or adjust a clamping force on the spool. 21.
