Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An insulating device can include an aperture having a waterproof closure which allows access to the chamber within the insulating device. The closure can help prevent any fluid leakage into and out of the insulating device if the insulating device is overturned or in any configuration other than upright. The closure also prevents any fluid from permeating into the chamber if the insulating device is exposed to precipitation, other fluid, or submersed under water. This construction results in an insulating chamber impervious to water and other liquids when the closure is sealed.

An apparatus comprising: a shell defining a first side, a second side, a bottom, and an inner wall, wherein the shell is waterproof and formed from a one-piece integral structure, wherein the one-piece integral structure is joined together to form a seam; a storage compartment; an opening configured to provide access to the storage compartment, the opening including a closure; a plurality of reinforcement patches on the first side and second side of the shell, wherein the reinforcement patches are elongated a first carry strap on the first side and a second carry strap on the second side, the first carry strap being formed of a first piece of material having a first pair of lengths and the second carry strap being formed of a second piece of material having a second pair of lengths, wherein the first pair of lengths of the first piece of material forming the first carry strap is connected to the plurality of reinforcement patches on the first side, and wherein the second pair of lengths of the second piece of material is connected to the plurality of reinforcement patches on the second side; a base, wherein the base includes a logo, wherein the logo is molded or embossed directly into the base, and a base support ridge. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the shell can withstand 35 lbs. to 100 lbs. of puncture force. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base has an elongated shape and wherein the first carry strap and the second carry strap are configured to form a U-shape when in an extended position. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first pair of lengths and the second pair of lengths are attached to the plurality of reinforcement patches by threads, and wherein the plurality of reinforcement patches are attached to the shell by welds. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the opening has a first perimeter circumference, wherein the bottom has a second perimeter circumference, and wherein the first perimeter circumference is about equal to the second perimeter circumference. 6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the shell comprises one or more of PVC, TPU, TPU coated nylon, double laminated TPU nylon fabric, and coated fabrics. 7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the shell is formed from a rectangular shape. 8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first carry strap and the second carry strap are constructed of one or more of nylon, polypropylene, neoprene, or polyester. 9. An apparatus comprising: a shell defining a first side, a second side, a bottom, and an inner wall, and wherein the shell is waterproof and formed from a one-piece integral structure, wherein the one-piece integral structure is attached together to form a seam; a storage compartment; an opening configured to provide access to the storage compartment; a first carrying strap on the first side, and a second carrying strap on the second side, the first carrying strap being formed of a first piece of material and the second carrying strap being formed of a second piece of material, the first piece of material comprising a first attachment area and the second piece of material comprising a second attachment area; a plurality of reinforcement patches, wherein the first piece of material forming the first carrying strap and the second piece of material forming the second carrying strap are connected to the plurality of reinforcement patches, wherein the reinforcement patches are substantially rectangular, and wherein the reinforcement patches are attached to the shell; and a base connected to the shell, wherein the base includes a logo, wherein the logo is molded or embossed directly into the base; and a material providing reinforcement along the bottom of the apparatus. 10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the base is formed in an elongated shape and wherein the opening further comprises a closing means, and wherein the closing means is a plastic or metal. 11. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first piece of material and the second piece of material are attached to the plurality of reinforcement patches by threads, and wherein the plurality of reinforcement patches are attached to the shell by welds. 12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the opening is formed with a first perimeter circumference, wherein the bottom is formed with a second perimeter circumference, and wherein the first perimeter circumference is about equal to the second perimeter circumference. 13. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the shell is one or more of PVC, TPU, TPU coated nylon, double laminated TPU nylon fabric, and coated fabrics. 14. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the shell is formed of a weldable material. 15. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first carrying strap and the second carrying strap are one or more of nylon, polypropylene, neoprene, or polyester. 16. An apparatus comprising: a shell defining a first side, a second side, a bottom, and an opening, wherein the shell is waterproof; a storage compartment; a top outer layer attached to the shell; a plurality of reinforcement patches positioned below the top outer layer; at least two straps, wherein a first strap is connected to the first side, and wherein a second strap is connected to the second side; wherein the straps are affixed to the plurality of reinforcement patches, wherein the reinforcement patches are affixed to the shell; a base comprising a support ridge molded or embossed directly into the bottom of the base; and a material placed along the bottom of the apparatus for reinforcement and wherein the material surrounds a lower circumference of the apparatus. 17. The apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the opening further comprises a closure, and wherein the closure is metal or plastic. 18.
