An integrated active control system includes gaming devices, a server, and a network connecting the server and gaming devices. The gaming devices include gaming terminals and gaming tables. The integrated active control system aggregates gaming transaction information from the gaming devices and determines, for example, the effectiveness of the gaming establishment's floor configuration. Based on this effectiveness determination, at least one of the gaming devices are instructed to change their configuration. Staffing information may also be considered and reconfigured. The integrated active control system further monitors and configures gaming chips. The gaming chips are programmable, and may store monetary chip value and chip identification information. The programmable gaming chips are monitored for tracking the wagers made with the chips as well as for detecting their location.

What is claimed is: 1. A gaming system comprising: a processor; and a memory device storing instructions, which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to at least: determine that a wireless communication device is located proximate to an electronic gaming machine based on a receive communication received by the electronic gaming machine from the wireless communication device, the receive communication including player identification information; identify a user in response to determining that the wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine and based on the player identification information included with the receive communication received from the wireless communication device; communicate, in response to determining that the wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine and identifying the user, player preference data related to the user to the electronic gaming machine; in response to receiving the player preference data and the wireless communication device being located proximate to the electronic gaming machine: determine a list of games based upon the player preference data, wherein the player preference data includes a plurality of games associated with at least one player input, and wherein the plurality of games are included in the list of games; cause the electronic gaming machine to request a configuration authorization to implement a configuration of the electronic gaming machine based on the player preference data, wherein the configuration includes the list of games based on the player preference data and a second wager amount associated with the player preference data; receive the configuration authorization; and in response to receiving the configuration authorization, transmit a configuration command to the electronic gaming machine that causes the electronic gaming machine to: reconfigure a first wager amount associated with the electronic gaming machine to the second wager amount based on a frequency with which the second wager amount is made by the user that is included in the player preference data; and control a display device of the electronic gaming machine to display the list of games and the second wager amount. 2. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the list comprises an advertisement. 3. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to receive, from a data acquisition device of the electronic gaming machine, data identifying the user, wherein the data acquisition device wirelessly acquires the data identifying the user from the wireless communication device. 4. The gaming system of claim 3 , wherein the data acquisition device comprises a sensor configured to receive a wireless signal from the wireless communication device, and wherein the wireless communication device comprises a wireless transponder for wirelessly communicating with the sensor. 5. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to retrieve the player preference data from the memory device in response to determining that the wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine. 6. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to, when no player is playing at the electronic gaming machine, control the display device of the electronic gaming machine to display an attract mode configured to attract attention of the user, wherein the attract mode is selected based upon the player preference data and customized for the user based upon the player preference data. 7. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to control the display device of the electronic gaming machine to display a recommendation of at least one game of the list of games, wherein the recommendation is based on the player preference data. 8. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to reconfigure one of a physical configuration, a display setting, or a game play setting of the electronic gaming machine in response to determining that the user is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine, wherein the reconfiguration is based upon the player preference data. 9. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to: track a location of the wireless communication device; and in response to the wireless communication device entering a gaming area, i) wirelessly receive a currency value associated with the user from the gaming system, and ii) load the currency value to a memory device of the wireless communication device. 10. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the player preference data further includes a seat height associated with the user, and wherein the configuration command further causes the electronic gaming machine to change a height of a seat associated with the electronic gaming machine based on the seat height associated with the user. 11. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the player preference data further includes a display height associated with the user, and wherein the configuration command further causes the electronic gaming machine to change a height of the display device based on the display height associated with the user. 12. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to: receive a selection of a game from the list of games; identify a second electronic gaming machine different from the electronic gaming machine that is providing a second game different from the game from the list of games; and reconfigure the second electronic gaming machine from providing the second game to providing the game from the list of games. 13. A method for customizing a setting of an electronic gaming machine based upon a physical presence of a user near the electronic gaming machine, the method comprising: determining, by a processor, that a wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine based on a receive communication received by the electronic gaming machine from the wireless communication device carried by a user, the receive communication including player identification information; identifying, by the processor, the user in response to determining that the wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine and based on the player identification information included with the receive communication received from the wireless communication device; and communicating, by the processor and in response to determining that the wireless communication device is located proximate to the electronic gaming machine and identifying the user, player preference data related to the user to the electronic gaming machine, and wherein, in response to receiving the player preference data and the user being located proximate to the electronic gaming machine, the electronic gaming machine is configured to: determine a list of games based upon the player preference data, wherein the player preference data includes a plurality of games associated with at least one player input, and wherein the plurality of games are included in the list of games; request a configuration authorization to implement a configuration of the electronic gaming machine based on the player preference data, wherein the configuration includes the list of
