Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

In some examples, a fluid ejection die includes a plurality of nozzles arranged in a plurality of nozzle columns, the plurality of nozzle columns distributed across a width of the fluid ejection die in a staggered manner, wherein nozzles of each respective nozzle column of the plurality of nozzle columns are spaced apart along a length of the fluid ejection die, wherein the plurality of nozzle columns includes a first pair of neighboring nozzle columns that are spaced by a first distance across the width. The plurality of nozzle columns includes a second pair of neighboring nozzle columns that are spaced by a second distance across the width, the second distance being larger than the first distance.

What is claimed is: 1. A fluid ejection die comprising: a plurality of nozzles arranged in a plurality of rows along a die length and in a plurality of columns along a die width, wherein the plurality of nozzles comprises a first pair of sequential columnar nozzles in a first column of the plurality of columns and a second pair of sequential columnar nozzles in the first column; wherein nozzles in the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a first distance along the die length; wherein the nozzles in the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a second distance along the die length; and wherein the second distance is greater than the first distance. 2. The fluid ejection die of claim 1 , wherein the first distance is less than fifty micrometers and the second distance is at least one hundred micrometers. 3. The fluid ejection die of claim 1 , wherein the first distance is less than 25 micrometers and the second distance is between one hundred and four hundred micrometers. 4. The fluid ejection die of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of nozzles comprises a first group of nozzles in the first column and a second group of nozzles in the first column, wherein the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles is in the first group of nozzles, and wherein the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles comprises a first nozzle in the first group of nozzles and a second nozzle in the second group of nozzles. 5. The fluid ejection die of claim 4 , wherein a number of nozzles in the first group of nozzles is same as the number of nozzles in the second group of nozzles. 6. The fluid ejection die of claim 5 , wherein the number is two or three. 7. The fluid ejection die of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of ejection chambers, each of the plurality of ejection chambers being fluidically coupled with one of the plurality of nozzles. 8. The fluid ejection die of claim 7 , wherein each of the plurality of ejection chambers is fluidically coupled with at least one fluid feed hole. 9. The fluid ejection die of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of nozzles further comprises a third pair of sequential columnar nozzles in a second column of the plurality of columns, and wherein the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles is located between the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles and the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles along the die length. 10. The fluid ejection die of claim 9 , wherein the nozzles in the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by the first distance. 11. A fluid ejection die comprising: a plurality of nozzles arranged in a plurality of rows along a die length and in a plurality of columns along a die width, wherein the plurality of nozzles comprises a first pair of sequential columnar nozzles in a first column of the plurality of columns and a second pair of sequential columnar nozzles in the first column; wherein nozzles in the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a first distance along the die length of less than fifty micrometers; and wherein the nozzles in the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a second distance along the die length of at least one hundred micrometers. 12. The fluid ejection die of claim 11 , further comprising: a plurality of ejection chambers, each of the plurality of ejection chambers being fluidically coupled with one of the plurality of nozzles; and at least one fluid feed hole fluidically coupled to each of the plurality of ejection chambers. 13. The fluid ejection die of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of nozzles comprises a first group of nozzles in the first column and a second group of nozzles in the first column, wherein the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles is in the first group of nozzles, and wherein the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles comprises a first nozzle in the first group of nozzles and a second nozzle in the second group of nozzles. 14. The fluid ejection die of claim 13 , wherein a number of nozzles in the first group of nozzles is same as the number of nozzles in the second group of nozzles. 15. The fluid ejection die of claim 14 , wherein the number is two or three. 16. The fluid ejection die of claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of columns comprises fifty to two hundred nozzles. 17. A fluid ejection die comprising: a plurality of nozzles arranged in a plurality of rows along a die length and in a plurality of columns along a die width, wherein the plurality of nozzles comprises a first pair of sequential columnar nozzles in a first column of the plurality of columns, a second pair of sequential columnar nozzles in the first column, a third pair of sequential columnar nozzles in a second column of the plurality of nozzles, and a fourth pair of sequential columnar nozzles in the second column; wherein each of the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles, and the fourth pair of sequential columnar nozzles are offset from one another along the die length; wherein each of the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles, and the fourth pair of sequential columnar nozzles comprises a first nozzle and a second nozzle; wherein the first nozzle and the second nozzle of each of the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles, the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles, and the fourth pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a first distance; wherein the second nozzle of the first pair of sequential columnar nozzles and the first nozzle of the second pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by a second distance; wherein the second nozzle of the third pair of sequential columnar nozzles and the first nozzle of the fourth pair of sequential columnar nozzles are separated by the second distance; and wherein the second distance is greater than the first distance. 18.
