The present invention provides a new production method for a chlorobenzene compound. Specifically, the present invention provides a production method in which the compound represented by formula (1) (in the formula, X1 represents a halogen atom) and chlorine are reacted in the presence of a Brønsted acid, thereby obtaining the chlorobenzene compound represented by formula (2) (in the formula, X1 represents the same as above).

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for preparing a compound represented by formula (2): [wherein X 1 represents a halogen atom] which comprises a step (B): a step of reacting a compound represented by formula (1): [wherein X 1 has the same meaning as described above] with chlorine in the presence of a Brønsted acid to obtain the compound represented by formula (2), wherein the Brønsted acid is hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. 2. A method for preparing a compound represented by formula (2): [wherein X 1 represents a halogen atom] which comprises a step (A) and the step (B) described in claim 1 : step (A): a step of reacting a compound represented by formula (3): [wherein X 2 represents a halogen atom] with a compound represented by formula (4): [wherein X 1 has the same meaning as described above] in the presence of a base to obtain the compound represented by formula (1) in claim 1 . 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein X 1 represents a fluorine atom. 4. A method for preparing a compound represented by formula (7): [wherein X 1 represents a halogen atom] which comprises a step of reacting the compound represented by formula (2) which is prepared by the method according to claim 1 with a compound represented by formula (5): [wherein R 1 represents a C1-C5 alkyl group] to obtain a compound represented by formula (6): [wherein X 1 and R 1 have the same meanings as described above], and then hydrolyzing the compound represented by formula (6) to prepare the compound represented by formula (7).
