The invention claimed is: 1. A composition stabilized against light-induced degradation, comprising: a coating for non-living and non-keratinous materials subject to light-induced degradation, and an ultraviolet radiation absorbing polymer composition comprising a polymer compound of the general formula (I) wherein n and m are each independently a number from 0 to 20, and at least one of m and n is≥1; and wherein X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5 are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, C(O)R1 with R1 being a C 8 -C 24 -alkyl, and a group of the general formula (II) with R2 being H or a halogen. 2. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a sterically hindered amine stabilizer and/or a UV absorber selected from the group consisting of hydroxy-phenyl-s-triazines, oxanilides, hydroxybenzophenones, benzoates, cyanoacrylates, and benzotriazoles different from those defined in general formula (I). 3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the coating is an automotive coating, an industrial coating, or a wood coating. 4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound of general formula (I) is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the dry weight of the coating.
