An adhesive dispensing system for applying liquid adhesive to a substrate using different nozzles with the same manifold is disclosed. The adhesive dispensing system includes a manifold having a body, a first clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, a second clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, and a nozzle. The first and second clamps secure the nozzle to the body of the manifold. The body of the manifold has a first contact surface that engages the first clamp and a second contact surface that engages the second clamp and the nozzle, where the second contact surface is angularly offset from the first contact surface.

What is claimed is: 1. A manifold for a liquid adhesive dispensing system, the manifold comprising: a body having a top surface, a bottom surface opposite said top surface along a vertical direction, a front surface, and a back surface opposite said front surface along a longitudinal direction that is perpendicular to the vertical direction, a first contact surface that engages a first clamp configured to secure a nozzle to the body, a second contact surface that engages the nozzle and a second clamp configured to secure the nozzle to the body, and a third contact surface; wherein said second contact surface is angularly offset from said first contact surface and spaced from said bottom surface along the vertical direction, and wherein said third contact surface is angularly offset from said second contact surface and engages said second clamp. 2. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said third contact surface extends from said second contact surface to said bottom surface. 3. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said front surface includes said first contact surface. 4. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said first contact surface defines at least one bore that is configured to receive at least one fastener, wherein said at least one fastener secures said first clamp to said first contact surface. 5. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said fest-nozzle is a liquid adhesive spray nozzle. 6. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said nozzle is a liquid adhesive contact nozzle. 7. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said nozzle is a first nozzle and said first and second clamps secure said first nozzle, said manifold further comprising a third clamp and a fourth clamp, said third and fourth clamps configured to secure a second nozzle to said body of said manifold. 8. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said nozzle includes a first nozzle plate, a second nozzle plate coupled to said first nozzle plate, a shim disposed between the first and second nozzle plates, and a nozzle slot defined by said shim and a gap between said first and second nozzle plates, wherein a liquid adhesive exits the liquid adhesive dispensing system through said nozzle slot. 9. The manifold of claim 8 , wherein said second nozzle plate has a first surface, a second surface opposite said first surface along a longitudinal direction and angularly offset from said first surface, said first surface engages said first clamp, and said second surface engages said second clamp. 10. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said first clamp releasably engages said body and said second clamp releasably engages said body. 11. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said first clamp has a first clamping surface angled relative to said first contact surface of said body. 12. The manifold of claim 11 , wherein said first clamping surface of said first clamp is obliquely angled relative to said first contact surface of said body. 13. The manifold of claim 11 , wherein said second clamp has a second clamping surface angled relative to said third contact surface of said body. 14. The manifold of claim 13 , wherein said second clamping surface of said second clamp is obliquely angled relative to said third contact surface of said body. 15. The manifold of claim 14 , wherein said first and second clamping surfaces impart a force on said nozzle and said first and second clamps secure said nozzle to said body, such that said first clamp engages said first contact surface, said second clamp engages said second and third contact surfaces, and said nozzle engages said second contact surface. 16. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein: said first and third contact surfaces are planar; and each of said first and second clamps releasably engage said body of said manifold. 17. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein said second contact surface has at least one bore that receives at least one fastener, and wherein said at least one fastener secures the second clamp to said second contact surface. 18. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein: said nozzle has a first surface, a second surface extending from and angularly offset from said first surface, a third surface opposite said first surface along a longitudinal direction, and a fourth surface extending from and angularly offset from said third surface; and said first and second surfaces of the nozzle engage the first clamp, and said third and fourth surfaces of the nozzle engage said second clamp. 19. A manifold for a liquid adhesive dispensing system, the manifold comprising: a body having a first contact surface that engages a first clamp and a second contact surface that is angularly offset from the first contact surface and that engages a second clamp, wherein the first clamp and the second clamp are configured to secure, to the body, a first nozzle having a first surface, a second surface extending from and angularly offset from said first surface, a third surface opposite said first surface along a longitudinal direction, and a fourth surface extending from and angularly offset from said third surface, said first and second surfaces configured to engage the first clamp, and said third and fourth surfaces configured to engage said second clamp. 20. The manifold of claim 19 , wherein said body includes a third contact surface angularly offset from said second contact surface. 21. The manifold of claim 20 , wherein said second clamp engages said second and third contact surfaces. 22. A manifold for a liquid adhesive dispensing system, the manifold comprising: a body having a top surface, a bottom surface opposite said top surface along a vertical direction, a front surface, and a back surface opposite said front surface along a longitudinal direction that is perpendicular to the vertical direction, a first contact surface that engages a first clamp configured to secure a nozzle to the body, a second contact surface that engages the nozzle and a second clamp configured to secure the nozzle to the body, and a third contact surface, wherein said second contact surface is angularly offset from said first contact surface and spaced from said bottom surface along the vertical direction, wherein said third contact surface is angularly offset from said second contact surface and engages said second clamp, and wherein said second contact surface defines at least one bore to receive at least one fastener, wherein said at least one fastener secures said second clamp to said second contact surface.
