Official abstract text for this publication.
A media-playback device acquires a heart rate, selects a song with a first tempo, and initiates playback of the song. The song meets a set of qualification criteria and the first tempo is based on the heart rate, such as being equal to or less than the heart rate. The media-playback device also initiates playback of a binaural beat at a first frequency. Over a period of time, the binaural beat's first frequency is changed to a second frequency. Over the period of time, the first tempo can also be changed to a second tempo, where the second tempo is slower than the first tempo.

What is claimed is: 1. A computing device comprising: at least one processing device; and at least one computer readable data storage device storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processing device, cause a media-playback device to: acquire a moment selection; acquire a heart rate; determine a set of media content items based at least in part on the moment selection; determine a subset of media content items by filtering the set of media content items using the heart rate; initiate playback of the at least one media content item of the subset of media content items; and initiate playback of a binaural beat during the playback of the at least one media content item of the subset of media content items. 2. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the moment selection is based on a user input. 3. The computing device of claim 2 , wherein the user input for the moment selection is received from a user interface. 4. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the moment selection is based on contextual information. 5. The computing device of claim 4 , wherein the contextual information comprises: one or more of a location, a function selected on the computing device, movement, and/or time of day. 6. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein a moment associated with the moment selection has a period of time, and wherein the at least one media content item plays for the period of time. 7. The computing device of claim 6 , wherein the moment comprises one of bedtime, a power nap, airplane, or for kids. 8. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein filtering the set of media content items is performed after acquisition of the moment selection and acquisition of the heart rate. 9. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein to acquire the heart rate further comprises to: receive a plurality of images corresponding to the movement of blood; detect the rate of change in color of the plurality of images; and determine the heart rate based on the rate of change in color. 10. A method comprising: using a computing device: acquiring a moment selection; acquiring a heart rate; determining a set of media content items based at least in part on the moment selection; determining a subset of media content items by filtering the set of media content items using the heart rate; initiating playback of the at least one media content item of the subset of media content items; and initiating playback of a binaural beat during the playback of the at least one media content item of the subset of media content items. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the moment selection is based on a user input or on contextual information. 12. The method of claim 10 , wherein a moment is associated with the moment selection, and the moment comprises one of bedtime, a power nap, airplane, or for kids. 13. The method of claim 10 , wherein a moment is associated with the moment selection, and the moment comprises at least a first period of time and a second period of time. 14. The method of claim 13 , wherein a first media content item is played during the first period of time and a second media content item is played during the second period of time. 15. The method of claim 10 , wherein filtering the set of media content items is performed after acquisition of the moment selection and acquisition of the heart rate. 16. A media server comprising: a database storing at least a plurality of songs; at least one processing device in data communication with the database; and at least one computer readable storage device storing data instructions which, when executed by the at least one processing device, cause the media server to: acquire a moment selection; acquire a heart rate; determine a set of songs based at least in part on the moment selection; determine a subset of songs by filtering the set of songs using the heart rate; initiate playback of the at least one song of the subset of songs; and initiate playback of a binaural beat during the playback of the at least one song of the subset of songs. 17. The media server of claim 16 , wherein the moment selection is based on a user input or on contextual information. 18. The media server of claim 17 , wherein the contextual information comprises: one or more of a location, a function selected on the computing device, movement, and/or time of day. 19. The media server of claim 17 , wherein the user input for the moment selection is received from a user interface. 20. The media server of claim 16 , wherein filter the set of media content items is performed after acquisition of the moment selection and acquisition of the heart rate.
