Pump systems are described. An example pump system may include a processing unit and a recess configured to receive a pump cartridge. The recess can include a plurality of cartridge engagement slots. The cartridge engagement slots can be configured for removably coupling the pump cartridge. The recess can also include a cartridge-facing surface with a positioning feature slot extending orthogonal to a general plane of the cartridge-facing surface.

What is claimed is: 1. A pump system comprising: a processing unit; and an interface module fixedly coupled to the processing unit and defining a recess configured to receive a pump cartridge, the recess defining a plurality of arcuate perimeter edges corresponding to the pump cartridge, wherein the plurality of arcuate perimeter edges includes an arcuate side edge and the recess further defining a first straight longitudinal edge intersecting with the arcuate side edge, a second straight longitudinal edge intersecting with the arcuate side edge and disposed on an opposite side of the arcuate side edge from the first straight longitudinal edge, and a third straight longitudinal edge disposed across from the first straight longitudinal edge defining a first recess width, the third straight longitudinal edge also disposed and across from the second straight longitudinal edge defining a second recess width, wherein the first recess width is greater than the second recess width, the recess comprising: a plurality of cartridge engagement slots configured for removably coupling the pump cartridge; and a cartridge-facing surface comprising a positioning feature slot extending orthogonal to a general plane of the cartridge-facing surface. 2. The pump system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of cartridge engagement slots comprises at least one L-shaped locking channel. 3. The pump system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of cartridge engagement slots comprises at least one flat face ramp portion. 4. The pump system of claim 1 , comprising an inlet recess formed through a portion of the recess. 5. The pump system of claim 1 , comprising an outlet recess formed through a portion of the recess. 6. The pump system of claim 1 , wherein the cartridge-facing surface comprises a positioning protrusion extending from the cartridge-facing surface. 7. The pump system of claim 6 , wherein the positioning protrusion is disposed proximal to an inlet-side valve actuator. 8. The pump system of claim 6 , wherein the positioning protrusion is disposed proximal to an outlet-side valve actuator. 9. The pump system of claim 1 , the recess comprising an upstream pressure sensing probe. 10. The pump system of claim 1 , the recess comprising a downstream pressure sensing probe. 11. A pump system comprising: a processing unit; and an interface module fixedly coupled to the processing unit and defining a cartridge recess configured to receive a pump cartridge, the cartridge recess defining a plurality of arcuate perimeter edges corresponding to the pump cartridge, wherein the plurality of arcuate perimeter edges includes an arcuate side edge and the recess further defining a first straight longitudinal edge intersecting with the arcuate side edge, a second straight longitudinal edge intersecting with the arcuate side edge and disposed on an opposite side of the arcuate side edge from the first straight longitudinal edge, and a third straight longitudinal edge disposed across from the first straight longitudinal edge defining a first recess width, the third straight longitudinal edge also disposed across from the second straight longitudinal edge defining a second recess width, wherein the first recess width is greater than the second recess width, the cartridge recess comprising: a cartridge-facing surface; and a plurality of cartridge engagement slots configured for removably coupling the pump cartridge, wherein each of the plurality of cartridge engagement slots comprises a flat face ramp portion. 12. The pump system of claim 11 , comprising an inlet recess formed through a portion of the cartridge recess. 13. The pump system of claim 11 , comprising an outlet recess formed through a portion of the cartridge recess. 14. The pump system of claim 11 , wherein the cartridge-facing surface comprises a positioning protrusion extending from the cartridge-facing surface. 15. The pump system of claim 14 , wherein the positioning protrusion is disposed proximal to an inlet-side valve actuator. 16. The pump system of claim 14 , wherein the positioning protrusion is disposed proximal to an outlet-side valve actuator. 17. The pump system of claim 11 , the cartridge recess comprising an upstream pressure sensing probe. 18. The pump system of claim 11 , the cartridge recess comprising a downstream pressure sensing probe.
