Official abstract text for this publication.
An automated teller machine (“ATM”) is described. The ATM can be provided with an interface area which includes a display unit and one or more sensors. The display unit can move relative to the interface area so that the display is better accessible for a user of the ATM. For example, the display can make translational or rotational movements, e.g., telescoping movements. The ATM can include a sensor which can detect an object, a location for the object and a distance from the object. Using this information, the ATM can move or guide the display in a direction which makes the display more accessible for the user.

The invention claimed is: 1. A device comprising: a housing including: an interface area including a display, a camera, a card reader and a cash dispenser; a processor and a memory; a vault connected to the cash dispenser; and a transceiver; wherein: the interface area is configured to distally move away from the housing; the transceiver is configured to receive data from a client device; and the processor is configured to effectuate a distal movement of the interface area based on the data. 2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the client device is a cellphone. 3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the data is information associated with a contactless card. 4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the data is a direction for the distal movement. 5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the interface area is movable relative to the housing through at least two degrees of freedom. 6. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a motor. 7. The device of claim 6 , wherein the processor is configured to instruct the motor to effectuate the distal movement. 8. The device of claim 1 , wherein interface area is assembled on a mount. 9. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a sensor. 10. The device of claim 9 , wherein the sensor is configured to detect a distance between the interface area and an object. 11. The device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is configured to effectual the distal movement based on the distance. 12. The device of claim 9 , further comprising a button on the interface area. 13. The device of claim 12 , wherein when the button is pressed, the processor is configured to detect an object and effectuate the distal movement based on the object. 14. The device of claim 9 , wherein the processor is configured to periodically search for objects that approach the device. 15. The device of claim 1 , wherein the interface area has an input device. 16. The device of claim 15 , wherein the input device is moveable relative to the interface area. 17. The device of claim 15 , wherein the input device is a keypad. 18. The device of claim 1 , wherein the memory stores a set of distal movement for a corresponding set of objections. 19. The device of claim 1 , wherein the memory stores a set of distances that are reachable by the interface area. 20. The device of claim 19 , wherein the display is configured to show a warning if an object is not reachable by the interface area.
