Improved methods and systems are described that improve and enhance payment transaction technologies using node association in a wireless node network. In general, a master node related to a payment receiver may detect a signal from an ID node related to a payment provider as the ID node approaches the master node. The master node may then determine if the ID node desires to associate with the master node for a payment transaction based upon a first part of information within the detected signal, such as an identified item being purchased in the transaction. If desired, the master node and the ID node associate for the payment transaction, and the master node then submits payment transaction data to a server. Such payment transaction data is based upon a second part of information within the detected signal, such as an identified payment source for the transaction.

What is claimed: 1. An improved method for shipping a package that includes obtaining shipping information prior to drop off of the package that is used to provide a shipping service for the package and further includes conducting a payment transaction for shipping the package, wherein obtaining the shipping information and conducting the payment transaction include using node association in a wireless node network having at least a master node related to a shipping service entity acting as a payment receiver entity, an ID node related to a shipping customer acting as a payment provider entity, and a server for coordinating the shipping service, the method comprising: initially registering at the server the package and the ID node based on registration information received from the ID node at the server including storing shipping information for the package in memory at the server, the shipping information specifying details regarding the desired shipping service including the destination of the package and including an association of the ID node and the package; detecting, by the master node, a signal broadcast from the ID node as the ID node approaches the master node, wherein the detected signal includes a first part of information within the detected signal comprising an advertising state of the ID node selected from the group of a discoverable advertising state, a general advertising state, and a non-connectable advertising state that indicates whether the ID node desires to associate with the master node and a second part of information within the detected signal; determining, by the master node, that the ID node desires to associate with the master node for the initiation of the shipping service for the package and for the payment transaction based upon the advertising state of the first part of information within the detected signal; associating the master node and the ID node based upon the determination by the master node that the ID node desires to associate with the master node for the initiation of the shipping service for the package and for the payment transaction; and submitting, by the master node, association data identifying the ID node and payment transaction data acknowledging that the association of the master node and the ID node has occurred to the server for purposes of initiating the shipping service for the package, the association data being based upon the second part of information within the detected signal; using, by the server in response to receiving the submission of the association data from the master node, the data identifying the ID node to find and rely upon the stored shipping information for the package; concluding, by the server on the basis of the received association data, that the payment transaction has occurred; and authorizing, by the server on the basis of the received association data, the shipping of the package. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first part of information within the detected signal comprises an identification of a particular consumable to be purchased in the payment transaction. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second part of information within the detected signal comprises an identification of a payment source for the payment transaction. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the payment source is a non-currency program. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the associating step further comprises establishing a passive association between the master node and the ID node without requiring an authorized connection between the master node and ID node. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the associating step further comprises establishing an active association between the master node and the ID node, the active association reflecting an authorized connection between the master node and ID node. 7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the authorized connection is based upon a preloaded security credential. 8. The method of claim 6 , wherein establishing the active association further comprises establishing the active association with the ID node after receiving an acknowledgement from the ID node related to the payment transaction. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ID node is a mobile user access device. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the detected signal from the ID node implemented as the mobile user access device is a short-range transmission to the master node. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the associating step further comprises altering a broadcasting mode of the master node and instructing the ID node to alter its broadcasting mode. 12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the payment transaction data reflects an authorization to complete the payment transaction based upon completing the step of associating the master node and the ID node. 13. A system comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions which when executed by the system that further comprises a master node, an ID node, and a server causes the system to perform an improved method for shipping a package that includes obtaining shipping information prior to drop off of the package that is used to provide a shipping service for the package and further includes conducting a payment transaction for the package, wherein obtaining the shipping information and conducting the payment transaction include using node association in a wireless node network having at least the master node related to a payment receiver entity, the ID node related to a payment provider entity, and the server, the method comprising: initially registering at the server the package and the ID node based on registration information received from the ID node at the server including storing shipping information for the package in memory at the server, the shipping information specifying details regarding the desired shipping service including the destination of the package and including an association of the ID node and the package; detecting, by the master node, a signal broadcast from the ID node as the ID node approaches the master node, wherein the detected signal includes a first part of information within the detected signal comprising an advertising state of the ID node selected from the group of a discoverable advertising state, a general advertising state, and a non-connectable advertising state that indicates whether the ID node desires to associate with the master node and a second part of information within the detected signal; determining, by the master node, that the ID node desires to associate with the master node for the initiation of the shipping service for the package and for the payment transaction based upon the advertising state of the first part of information within the detected signal; associating the master node and the ID node based upon the determination by the master node that the ID node desires to associate with the master node for the initiation of the shipping service for the package and for the payment transaction; and submitting, by the master node, association data identifying the ID node and payment transaction data acknowledging that the association of the master node and the ID node has occurred to the server for the purpose of initiating the shipping service for the package, the association data being based upon the second part of information within the detected signal; using, by the server in response to receiving the submission of the association data from the master node, the data identifying the ID node to find and rely upon the stored shipping information for the package; concluding, by the server on the basis of the received association data, that the payment transaction on the basi
