What is claimed is: 1. A method of providing a health coaching message to a user comprising: processing an electronic audio file to generate audio pace data related to a corresponding fitness activity pace; storing the audio pace data in a memory; receiving the electronic audio file and the audio pace data on a portable electronic device, the portable electronic device further including a microprocessor, a satellite positioning system receiver, a wireless communication transceiver, and a display; collecting electronic fitness data during a fitness activity on the portable electronic device; generating activity pace data based on the electronic fitness data; and playing the electronic audio file on the portable electronic device based on a comparison of the audio pace data and the activity pace data. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the audio pace data includes electronic track tempo data. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the processing the electronic audio file includes applying an electronic audio filter to determine the electronic track tempo data. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the audio pace data includes a number of beats per minute of the electronic audio file. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining a target activity pace based on the audio pace data and an estimated distance traversed per repeated motion of the fitness activity, wherein the playing the electronic audio file is based on the target activity pace data. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining an activity phase of the fitness activity, wherein the playing the electronic audio file is based on the activity phase. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving a second electronic audio file including second audio pace data related to the fitness activity on the portable electronic device; playing the second electronic audio file on the portable electronic device based on a comparison of the second audio pace data and the activity pace data. 8. A portable health coaching system, comprising: a portable electronic device comprising: a satellite positioning system receiver, a wireless communication transceiver, a display, and a processor configured to: collect electronic fitness data during a fitness activity; play an electronic audio file based on the electronic fitness data and audio tempo data related to the electronic audio file. 9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the electronic fitness data includes pace data, and wherein the processor is configured to play the electronic audio file based on the pace data. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the pace data is based on position data from the satellite positioning system receiver. 11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the electronic fitness data includes position data from the satellite positioning system receiver, and wherein the processor is configured to play the electronic audio file based on the position data. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is configured to play a second electronic audio file based on the position data and second audio tempo data related to the second electronic audio file. 13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to determine an activity phase of the fitness activity, and wherein the processor is configured to play the electronic audio file based on the activity phase. 14. A method of providing an audio file to motivate a user comprising: receiving an electronic audio file and electronic audio tempo data related to the electronic audio file on a portable electronic device, the portable electronic device further including a microprocessor, a satellite positioning system receiver, a wireless communication transceiver, and a display; and playing the electronic audio file on the portable electronic device during a fitness activity based on the audio tempo data. 15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising: receiving a user input on the portable electronic device related to a target activity pace, wherein the playing the electronic audio file is based on the target activity pace. 16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the playing the electronic audio file is based on the user's historical pace data related to the fitness activity. 17. The method of claim 14 , further comprising: determining a first target activity pace for a first segment of the fitness activity; determining a second target activity pace for a second segment of the fitness activity; and playing the electronic audio file on the portable electronic device during traversal of the first segment of the fitness activity based on the electronic audio tempo data. 18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising: receiving a second electronic audio file and second electronic audio tempo data related to the second electronic audio file on the portable electronic device, and playing the second electronic audio file on the portable electronic device during traversal of the second segment of the fitness activity based on the second electronic audio tempo data. 19. The method of claim 18 , further comprising: receiving a user input on the portable electronic device related to a target activity pace, wherein the playing the second electronic audio file is based on the target activity pace. 20. The method of claim 18 , wherein the playing the second electronic audio file is based on the user's historical pace data related to the fitness activity. 21. The method of claim 7 , wherein the electronic audio file is played during the user's traversal of a first segment of a route, and wherein the second electronic audio file is played during the user's traversal of a second segment of the route. 22. The method of claim 1 , wherein the electronic audio file and the audio pace data are wirelessly received.
