A method of removing debris from an area of turf grass can include providing a grass treatment system including a comb having a leading edge comprising a plurality of comb teeth, wherein the comb is mounted transversely to a direction of travel, and a substantially cylindrical brush positioned above the comb and configured to engage at least a portion of a top surface of the comb, wherein the brush rotates relative to the comb. The method can include positioning the grass treatment system closely adjacent to the turf grass such that the comb engages debris on and around the turf grass surface, and moving the grass treatment so that (i) the comb engages the debris, (ii) the rotating brush removes at least a portion of the debris from the surface of the comb, and (iii) the rotating brush does not come into contact with the turf grass.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method of removing debris from an area of turf grass, the method comprising the steps of: providing a grass treatment system, comprising (i) a first ground engaging rolling element, (ii) a second ground engaging rolling element, (iii) a comb having a leading edge comprising a plurality of comb teeth spaced apart at intervals, wherein the comb is mounted between the first and second rolling elements and transversely to a direction of travel, (iv) a substantially cylindrical brush positioned above the comb and configured to engage at least a portion of a top surface of the comb, wherein the brush rotates relative to the comb; positioning the grass treatment system closely adjacent a surface of the turf grass such that the comb may engage debris on and around the turf grass surface; moving the grass treatment system closely adjacent to the turf grass surface so that, as the grass treatment system moves, (i) the comb engages the debris, and (ii) the rotating brush removes at least a portion of the debris from the top surface of the comb. 2. The method of removing debris from an area of turf of claim 1 , wherein the comb contacts a top portion of the turf grass surface equal to or less than about one third a length of the turf grass. 3. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , comprising positioning the brush such that the brush does not come into contact with the turf grass. 4. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , comprising providing the rotating brush with a substantially cylindrical core that extends along a longitudinal axis, and a plurality of radially extending bristles that extend longitudinally along the surface of the core, wherein the bristles are arranged in one or more columns disposed in one or more helical paths about at least a portion of the longitudinal axis of the core. 5. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , comprising providing the comb with a generally planar structure having a continuous spine along a longitudinal direction and transverse to a direction of travel of the system, and a plurality of comb teeth that extend orthogonally to and outwardly from the spine. 6. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , comprising calibrating an aperture between the top surface of the comb and at least a portion of an outer edge of the brush, wherein the aperture is between about 0 mm to 50 mm. 7. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , comprising a rotatable groomer positioned between the comb and brush, wherein the groomer comprises alternating angled blades. 8. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , wherein subsequent to the rotating brush removing at least a portion of the debris from the top surface of the comb, the debris follows a sealed airflow path through a chute and along an airflow deflection component. 9. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 1 , wherein air currents produced by the rotating brush act to propel debris along a chute and past an airflow deflection component to a collection container. 10. A method of removing debris from an area of turf grass, the method comprising the steps of: providing a grass treatment system, comprising a comb having a leading edge comprising a plurality of comb teeth spaced apart at intervals, wherein the comb is mounted transversely to a direction of travel, and a substantially cylindrical brush positioned above the comb and configured to engage at least a portion of a top surface of the comb, wherein the brush rotates relative to the comb; positioning the grass treatment system closely adjacent to a surface of the turf grass such that the comb may engage debris on and around the turf grass surface; moving the grass treatment system closely adjacent the turf grass surface so that, as the grass treatment system moves, (i) the comb engages the debris, (ii) the rotating brush removes at least a portion of the debris from the top surface of the comb, and (iii) the rotating brush does not come into contact with the turf grass. 11. The method of removing debris from an area of turf of claim 10 , wherein the comb contacts a top portion of the turf grass surface equal to or less than about one third a length of the turf grass. 12. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , comprising providing the rotating brush with a substantially cylindrical core that extends along a longitudinal axis, and a plurality of radially extending bristles that extend longitudinally along the surface of the core, wherein the bristles are arranged in one or more columns disposed in one or more helical paths about at least a portion of the longitudinal axis of the core. 13. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , comprising providing the comb with generally planar structure having a continuous spine along a longitudinal direction and transverse to a direction of travel of the system, and a plurality of comb teeth that extend orthogonally to and outwardly from the spine. 14. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , comprising calibrating an aperture between the top surface of the comb and at least a portion of an outer edge of the brush, wherein the aperture is between about 0 mm to 50 mm. 15. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , comprising a rotatable groomer positioned between the comb and brush, wherein the groomer comprises alternating angled blades. 16. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , wherein the brush rotates at a relatively slower speed compared to a speed of forward travel of the grass treatment system. 17. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , wherein subsequent to the rotating brush to removing at least a portion of the debris from the top surface of the comb, the debris follows a sealed airflow path through a chute and along an airflow deflection component. 18. The method of removing debris from an area of turf grass of claim 10 , comprising propelling the debris along a chute and past an airflow deflection component to a collection container via air currents produced by the rotating brush.
