Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A light assembly for attachment to a surface. The light assembly includes a base configured to be coupled to the surface and a light head coupled to the base and including a light source. The light head is movable relative to the base from a predetermined position. The light assembly further includes a motor coupled to the base and the light head to move the light head relative to the base and a remote configured to control movement of the light head with respect to the base. The remote including an actuator operable to return the light head to the predetermined position.

What is claimed is: 1. A light assembly for attachment to a surface, the light assembly comprising: a base configured to be coupled to the surface; a light head coupled to the base and including a light source, the light head movable relative to the base from a predetermined position; a motor coupled to the base and the light head to move the light head relative to the base; and a remote configured to control movement of the light head with respect to the base, the remote including an actuator operable to return the light head to the predetermined position. 2. The light assembly of claim 1 , wherein the light head is rotatable about a first axis and pivotable about a second axis relative to the base from the predetermined position. 3. The light assembly of claim 2 , wherein the remote includes a D-pad or joystick configured to rotate the light head about the first axis and pivot the light head about the second axis. 4. The light assembly of claim 2 , wherein the remote controls a first speed and a second speed at which the light head rotates about the first axis and pivots about the second axis, the first speed is in response to a first user input and the second speed is in response to a second user input. 5. The light assembly of claim 2 , wherein the light head rotates 370 degrees about the first axis. 6. The light assembly of claim 2 , wherein the light head is pivotable about the second axis over a range of 270 degrees. 7. The light assembly of claim 1 , wherein the remote includes a mode button configured to control the light source between a spot light mode, a flood light mode, and a combination of the spotlight mode and the flood light mode. 8. The light assembly of claim 1 , wherein the remote includes an intensity button configured to control a luminescent intensity of the light source. 9. The light assembly of claim 1 , wherein the remote includes a toggle switch configured to turn off the remote. 10. A light assembly for attachment to a surface of a vehicle, the light assembly comprising: a vehicle base configured to be coupled to the surface of the vehicle; a light head coupled to the base and including a light source, the light head movable relative to the base from a predetermined position; a first motor operable to rotate the light source about a first rotational axis; a second motor operable to rotate the light source about a second rotational axis; and a home button operable to return the light head to the predetermined position. 11. A light assembly of claim 10 , wherein the light head includes a light head base and a yoke coupled the light source, wherein the first motor rotates the light source relative to the yoke about the first rotational axis and the second motor rotates the yoke relative to the light head base about the second rotational axis. 12. A light assembly of claim 10 , wherein the light head is movable at a first speed and a second speed at which the light head rotates about the first rotational axis and pivots about the second rotational axis, the first speed is in response to a first user input and the second speed is in response to a second user input. 13. A light assembly of claim 12 , wherein the home button operates the light head at a third speed when returning the light head to the predetermined position. 14. A light assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a mode button configured to control the light source between a spot light mode, a flood light mode, and a combination of the spotlight mode and the flood light mode. 15. The light assembly of claim 10 , further comprising an intensity button configured to control the luminescent intensity of the light source. 16. A light assembly for attachment to a surface, the light assembly comprising: a base configured to be coupled to the surface; a light head coupled to the base and including a light source, the light head being movable relative to the base from a predetermined position; a motor coupled to the base and the light head to move the light head relative to the base; and a power actuator operable to turn the light source on and off, the power actuator also operable to return the light head to the predetermined position. 17. A light assembly of claim 16 , further comprising a remote control, wherein the power actuator is part of the remote control. 18. A light assembly of claim 16 , wherein the light head is rotatable about a first axis and pivotable about a second axis relative to the vehicle base from the predetermined position. 19. A light assembly of claim 18 , wherein the light head is movable at a first speed and a second speed at which the light head rotates about the first axis and pivots about the second axis, the first speed is in response to a first user input and the second speed is in response to a second user input. 20. A light assembly of claim 19 , wherein the power actuator operates the light head at a third speed when returning the light head to the predetermined position.
