Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A military vehicle includes a cab having a rear wall, a bed positioned behind the cab, and an energy storage system. The energy storage system includes a lower support coupled to the bed, a battery supported by the lower support, a bracket coupled to the batter, and an isolator mount coupling the bracket to the rear wall. The isolator mount is configured to provide front-to-back vibration isolation of the battery relative to the rear wall.

The invention claimed is: 1. A military vehicle comprising: a cab having a rear wall; a bed positioned behind the cab; and an energy storage system including: a lower support coupled to the bed; a battery supported by the lower support; a bracket coupled to the battery; and an isolator mount coupling the bracket to the rear wall, wherein the isolator mount is configured to provide front-to-back vibration isolation of the battery relative to the rear wall. 2. The military vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the energy storage system includes a battery housing enclosing the battery. 3. The military vehicle of claim 2 , wherein the bracket is directly coupled to the battery housing. 4. The military vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the isolator mount includes a rod extending between the bracket and the rear wall. 5. The military vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the isolator mount includes a single isolator mount generally centered with respect to the bracket. 6. The military vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the isolator mount is a first isolator mount, and wherein the energy storage system includes a second isolator mount positioned between the lower support and the battery. 7. The military vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the lower support defines a recess within which the second isolator mount is received. 8. The military vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the second isolator mount includes two or more second isolator mounts comprising a vibration attenuating material. 9. A military vehicle comprising: a cab having a rear wall; a bed positioned behind the cab; and an energy storage system including: a battery; a battery housing enclosing the battery, the battery housing defining a lower end and an upper end; a lower support coupled to the bed, the lower support supporting the lower end of the battery housing; and an isolator mount including a rod extending between the battery housing and the rear wall. 10. The military vehicle of claim 9 , wherein the isolator mount is configured to provide front-to-back vibration isolation of the battery relative to the rear wall. 11. The military vehicle of claim 9 , wherein the energy storage system includes a bracket coupled the battery housing at or proximate the upper end thereof, and wherein the rod is coupled to the bracket. 12. The military vehicle of claim 11 , wherein the isolator mount includes a single rod generally centered with respect to the bracket. 13. The military vehicle of claim 9 , wherein the isolator mount is a first isolator mount, and wherein the energy storage system includes a second isolator mount positioned between the lower support and the battery housing. 14. The military vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the lower support defines a recess within which the second isolator mount is received. 15. The military vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the second isolator mount includes two or more second isolator mounts spaced about the lower support. 16. A military vehicle comprising: a cab having a rear wall; a bed positioned behind the cab; and an energy storage system including: a battery housing defining a lower end and an upper end; a battery disposed within the battery housing; a bracket coupled to the battery housing at or proximate the upper end thereof; a lower support coupled to the bed, the lower support supporting the lower end of the battery housing; and an upper connector extending between the bracket and the rear wall. 17. The military vehicle of claim 16 , wherein the upper connector includes a damper. 18. The military vehicle of claim 16 , wherein the energy storage system includes an isolator mount positioned between the lower support and the battery housing. 19. The military vehicle of claim 18 , wherein the isolator mount includes a plurality of isolator mounts spaced about the lower support. 20. The military vehicle of claim 18 , wherein the lower support defines a recess within which the isolator mount is received.
