Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A radio assembly is provided. The radio assembly includes at least one radio module and a radome. The radio module has a heatsink disposed on one side and a radio module base on the other side thereof. The radio module base is disposed between the heatsink and the radome. The heatsink defines a cable channel for routing at least one power cable and at least one data cable.

First claim

The invention claimed is: 1. A radio assembly, comprising: a first radio module and a radome; the first radio module having a first heatsink disposed on one side, a radio module base on the other side thereof, the radio module base being disposed between the first heatsink and the radome, the first heatsink having a plurality of fins, and the first heatsink defining a cable channel for routing at least one power cable and at least one data cable; a reflector disposed between the radome and the radio module base; and the base including a plurality of standoffs, the plurality of standoffs configured to offset a substantial portion of at least the first radio module from the reflector. 2. The radio assembly of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fins are oriented 45 degrees with respect to the plurality of standoffs. 3. The radio assembly of claim 2 , further comprising a second radio module having a second heatsink disposed on one side of the second radio module; the plurality of fins of the first heatsink of the first radio module is oriented 45 degrees in a first direction and a plurality of fins of the second heatsink of the second radio module is oriented 45 degrees in the opposite direction of the first direction. 4. The radio assembly of claim 1 , further comprising: the radio module base being disposed on the reflector; at least one pin, the at least one pin configured to fasten the first radio module base to the reflector; and the radome including a plurality of antennas, the reflector being disposed on the radome. 5. The radio assembly of claim 4 , wherein the at least one pin is configured to be aligned with a back lobe produced by a row of the plurality of antennas. 6. The radio assembly of claim 4 , wherein the at least one pin is configured to be misaligned with a back lobe produced by a row of the plurality of antennas. 7. The radio assembly of claim 4 , wherein the at least one pin includes a plurality of pins, at least one pin of the plurality of pins is configured to be aligned with a back lobe produced by a row of the plurality of antennas, at least one other pin of the plurality of pins is configured to be misaligned with a back lobe produced by a row of the plurality of antennas. 8. The radio assembly of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of antennas are dipole antennas.
