Official abstract text for this publication.
A method is performed at a client device with a display screen, processor(s), and memory storing program(s) for execution by the processor(s). The method comprises obtaining alert events from smart devices at a physical location. The smart devices include a camera located at or in proximity to the physical location. The method further comprises displaying in a scrollable list a chronological sequence of camera event items. Each of the camera event items includes a thumbnail image, a time of the alert event, and one or more activity alert indicators corresponding to predefined activity alert types. The method further comprises receiving a user selection of a first thumbnail image corresponding to a first one of the camera event items, and responsive to the user selection, enabling playback of a video of a first alert event in a video player interface while maintaining display of the scrollable list.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: obtaining, by a computing device, alert events from one or more smart devices at a physical location, the one or more smart devices including a camera located at or in proximity to the physical location, wherein each obtained alert event is associated with at least one of a plurality of predefined activity alert types; outputting, for display at a display screen of the computing device, a camera history user interface that includes a scrollable list of a plurality of camera event items from the camera that are arranged in a chronological sequence and a filter graphical element, wherein each of the camera event items in the scrollable list is displayed across a full width of the scrollable list and including an image, a time of an alert event associated with the respective camera event item, and one or more activity alert indicators corresponding to one or more of the predefined activity alert types; detecting, by the computing device, a user input at a location of the display at which the filter graphical element is displayed; responsive to detecting the user input, outputting, by the computing device and for display, a filtering menu that includes two or more filtering criteria selected from a group consisting of a sound alert event type, a vibration alert event type, a hazard alert event type, a motion alert event type, a non-visual motion alert event type, an operation of a smart door lock, an operation of a smart doorbell, an environmental alert event type, an occupancy alert event type, a zone of interest, a zone outside the zones of interest, an identifiable object, and a person detection; receiving, by the computing device, a selection of one or more filtering criteria from the two or more filtering criteria; determining, by the computing device and based on the selection of the one or more filtering criteria, a subset of camera event items from the plurality of camera event items; and outputting, for display, an updated camera history user interface that includes a scrollable list of the subset of camera event items. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein outputting the filtering menu further comprises: obscuring the camera history user interface; and outputting the filtering menu for display over a portion of the obscured camera history user interface. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selection of the one or more filtering criteria is a selection of a first filtering criteria, the method further comprising: receiving, by the computing device, a selection of a second filtering criteria from the two or more filtering criteria; and determining the subset of camera event items is based on the first filtering criteria and the second filtering criteria. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the predefined activity alert types are associated with one or more of a hazard alert event, an audio alert event, a motion alert event in a zone of interest in a field of view of the camera, or a motion event outside of the zone of interest in the field of view of the camera; and the zone of interest comprises a defined spatial zone in the field of view. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the spatial zone is defined by a user. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the one or more activity alert indicators has a visually distinctive display characteristic based on color or shape. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the full width of the scrollable list is a full width of the display screen. 8. A computing device comprising: a display screen; one or more processors; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to: obtain alert events from one or more smart devices at a physical location, the one or more smart devices including a camera located at or in proximity to the physical location, wherein each obtained alert event is associated with at least one of a plurality of predefined activity alert types; output, for display at the display screen, a camera history user interface that includes a scrollable list of a plurality of camera event items from the camera that are arranged in a chronological sequence and a filter graphical element, wherein each of the camera event items in the scrollable list is displayed across a full width of the scrollable list and including an image, a time of an alert event associated with the respective camera event item, and one or more activity alert indicators corresponding to one or more of the predefined activity alert types; detect a user input at a location of the display screen at which the filter graphical element is displayed; responsive to detecting the user input, output, for display, a filtering menu that includes two or more filtering criteria selected from a group consisting of a sound alert event type, a vibration alert event type, a hazard alert event type, a motion alert event type, a non-visual motion alert event type, an operation of a smart door lock, an operation of a smart doorbell, an environmental alert event type, an occupancy alert event type, a zone of interest, a zone outside the zones of interest, an identifiable object, and a person detection; receive a selection of one or more filtering criteria from the two or more filtering criteria; determine, based on the selection of the one or more filtering criteria, a subset of camera event items from the plurality of camera event items; and output, for display, an updated camera history user interface that includes a scrollable list of the subset of camera event items. 9. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions further cause the one or more processors to: obscure the camera history user interface; and output the filtering menu for display over a portion of the obscured camera history user interface. 10. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the selection of the one or more filtering criteria is a selection of a first filtering criteria, and wherein the instructions further cause the one or more processors to: receive a selection of a second filtering criteria from the two or more filtering criteria; and determine the subset of camera event items based on the first filtering criteria and the second filtering criteria. 11. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the predefined activity alert types are associated with one or more of a hazard alert event, an audio alert event, a motion alert event in a zone of interest in a field of view of the camera, or a motion event outside of the zone of interest in the field of view of the camera; and the zone of interest comprises a defined spatial zone in the field of view. 12. The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the spatial zone is defined by a user. 13. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein each of the one or more activity alert indicators has a visually distinctive display characteristic based on color or shape. 14. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the full width of the scrollable list is a full width of the display screen. 15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the one or more processors to: obtain alert events from one or more smart devices at a physical location, the one or more smart devices including a camera located at or in proximity to the physical location, wherein each obtained alert event is associated with at least one of a plurality of predefined activity alert types; output, for display at a display screen of the computing device, a camera history user interface that inclu
