What is claimed: 1. A tamp and stir machine for processing a plurality of sachets in a package, the tamp and stir machine comprising: a chamber vertically movable from a first chamber position to a second chamber position; a piston vertically movable within the chamber, and the piston being independent from the chamber, such that the piston is moveable from a first piston position within the chamber to a second piston position, at least a portion of the piston protruding from the chamber when the chamber is in the first chamber position; a gas distribution nozzle; and a fluid spray nozzle, the fluid spray nozzle in a lower portion of a wall of the chamber. 2. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , further comprising: a fluid seal on a lower portion of the chamber. 3. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , wherein the chamber includes a lower edge, the lower edge including a chamfered circumferential edge so as to provide a fluid seal when engaged with a circumferential edge of the package. 4. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , wherein the gas distribution nozzle is configured to distribute compressed air. 5. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , wherein the piston includes a compression head on a lower face of the piston, the compression head configured to engage the plurality of sachets in the package. 6. The tamp and stir machine of claim 5 , wherein the gas distribution nozzle is in the compression head. 7. The tamp and stir machine of claim 5 , wherein the gas distribution nozzle is in fluid communication with a gas passage in the piston, the gas passage extending a length of the piston. 8. The tamp and stir machine of claim 7 , wherein the gas passage is in fluid communication with a gas inlet formed in a wall of the chamber. 9. The tamp and stir machine of claim 8 , wherein the gas inlet is connected to the gas passage by a pipe. 10. The tamp and stir machine of claim 8 , wherein the gas inlet is a compressed air inlet. 11. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , wherein the chamber includes a lower edge, the lower edge including a chamfered circumferential edge so as to provide a fluid seal when engaged with a circumferential edge of the package, and the fluid spray nozzle is adjacent to the chamfered circumferential edge. 12. The tamp and stir machine of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sachets are tobacco sachets. 13. A method of processing a plurality of sachets in a package aligned with a chamber, the chamber having a piston therein, the chamber being vertically movable from a first chamber position to a second chamber position, the method comprising: compressing the plurality of sachets by moving the piston from a first piston position within the chamber to a second piston position protruding from the chamber, the piston being movable independent of the chamber, the piston moving from the first piston position to the second piston position while the chamber is held in the first chamber position; moving the piston from the second piston position to the first piston position so as to withdraw the piston from the package while holding the chamber in the first chamber position spraying a fluid onto the plurality of sachets with a liquid spray nozzle disposed within the chamber, the liquid spray nozzle in a lower portion of a wall of the chamber; and dispensing pressurized gas from a gas distribution nozzle to stir the plurality of sachets, the gas distribution nozzle being disposed in the chamber. 14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising: engaging a fluid seal of the chamber with an upper perimeter of the package to seal the package against fluid leakage. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the engaging a fluid seal of the chamber includes moving the chamber from the first chamber position to the second chamber position. 16. The method of claim 13 , wherein the spraying a fluid onto the plurality of sachets includes moving the chamber from the first chamber position to the second chamber position. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the moving the chamber from the first chamber position to the second chamber position includes holding the piston in the first piston position. 18. The method of claim 13 , further comprising: compressing the plurality of sachets in the package with the piston after dispensing pressurized gas from the gas distribution nozzle.
