A housing has a housing main body and an outlet port. The housing main body includes a cylindrical housing inner wall that defines an internal space therein. The outlet port fluidly connects the internal space and an outside of the housing main body to each other. The valve has a valve body rotatable about an rotation axis along a rotation axis of the cylindrical housing inner wall. The valve is configured to selectively open and close the outlet port depending on a rotation position of the valve. The housing inner wall is formed such that a distance between the housing inner wall and the axis of the housing inner wall varies in a circumferential direction.

The invention claimed is: 1. A valve device capable of controlling coolant water for a heating element of a vehicle, the valve device comprising: a housing having a housing main body, a port, a housing-side cover fixing member, and a housing-side cover fastening hole, the housing main body defining an internal space therein, the port fluidly connecting the internal space to an outside of the housing main body, the housing-side cover fixing member being formed as a different member from the housing main body and protruding from an outer wall of the housing main body, the housing-side cover fastening hole being formed inside the housing-side cover fixing member; a valve having a valve body rotatable about a rotation axis in the internal space and a shaft disposed along the rotation axis, the valve being configured to selectively open and close the port depending on a rotation position of the valve; a pipe member having a cylindrical pipe portion that has an inside space in fluid communication with the port, the pipe member being attached to the housing main body; a partition wall portion disposed to separate the internal space from the outside of the housing main body, the partition wall portion defining a shaft through hole therein through which one end of the shaft is rotatably inserted; a drive unit cover having a cover main body, a cover fixing portion, and a cover fastening hole, the cover main body being disposed on a side of the partition wall portion opposite to the internal space and defining a drive space between the cover main body and the partition wall portion, the cover fixing portion being formed as a different member from the cover main body and protruding from an outer wall of the cover main body, the cover fastening hole being formed inside the cover fixing portion; a drive unit disposed in the drive space, the drive unit being configured to rotate the valve body through the one end of the shaft; and a fixing member fixing the cover fixing portion to the housing-side cover fixing member by being inserted into the cover fastening hole to engage with the housing-side cover fastening hole, wherein the housing-side cover fixing member includes a cover fixing base portion that protrudes from the outer wall of the hosing main body and a cover fixing projection portion that protrudes from the cover fixing base portion toward the cover fixing portion and is fixed to the cover fixing portion, and at least a portion of the pipe member is located on a side of the cover fixing base portion opposite to the cover fixing projection portion. 2. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein the cover fixing projection portion defines a gap between the cover fixing projection portion and the outer wall of the cover main body. 3. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein the housing-side cover fastening hole has a length in an axial direction of the housing-side cover fastening hole that is shorter than a combined length of a length of the cover fixing base portion and a length of the cover fixing projection portion in the axial direction of the housing-side cover fastening hole. 4. The valve device according to claim 3 , wherein a length of a portion of the fixing member inside the housing-side cover fastening hole in the axial direction is shorter than the length of the housing-side cover fastening hole in the axial direction. 5. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein the fixing member is a self-tapping screw that engages with the housing-side cover fastening hole by tapping the housing-side cover fastening hole.
