Official abstract text for this publication.
An electret includes a composite oxide having an ABO 3 type perovskite structure containing two different metal elements A and B. The composite oxide is in a polarized state, at least a part of one of the metal elements A and B is substituted with a dopant element having a lower valence than the one of the metal elements A and B, and the composite oxide has a bandgap energy of 4 eV or more.

What is claimed is: 1. An electret comprising a composite oxide having an ABO 3 type perovskite structure containing two different metal elements A and B, wherein the composite oxide is in a polarized state, at least a part of one of the metal elements A and B is substituted with a dopant element having a lower valence than the one of the metal elements A and B, and the composite oxide has a bandgap energy of 4 eV or more. 2. The electret according to claim 1 , wherein the metal element A occupying an A site of the perovskite structure is a rare earth element R selected from the group consisting of La, Y, Pr, Sm and Nd, and the metal element B occupying a B site is Al. 3. The electret according to claim 1 , wherein the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element A is an alkaline earth metal element, and the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element B is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metal elements and Zn. 4. The electret according to claim 3 , wherein the alkaline earth metal element is Ca or Sr. 5. The electret according to claim 3 , wherein a substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element A is 20 atomic % or less, and the substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element B is 20 atomic % or less. 6. The electret according to claim 3 , wherein a substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element A is 0.05 atomic % to 18.8 atomic %, and a substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element B is 0.05 atomic % to 18.8 atomic %. 7. The electret according to claim 3 , wherein a substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element A is 0.05 atomic % to 2.5 atomic %, and a substitution ratio of the dopant element that substitutes for the metal element B is 0.05 atomic % to 2.5 atomic %.
