Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

In some embodiments, an electronic device present navigation routes from various perspectives. In some embodiments, an electronic device modifies display of representations of (e.g., physical) objects in the vicinity of a navigation route while presenting navigation directions. In some embodiments, an electronic device modifies display of portions of a navigation route that are occluded by representations of (e.g., physical) objects in a map. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents representations of (e.g., physical) objects in maps. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents representations of (e.g., physical) objects in maps in response to requests to search for (e.g., physical) objects.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method comprising: at an electronic device in communication with a display generation component and one or more input devices: while navigating along a route from a first physical location to a second physical location, displaying, via the display generation component, an indication of the route on a representation of a map displayed from a first perspective; while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the first perspective: in accordance with a determination that an upcoming maneuver of the route satisfies one or more first criteria: displaying, via the display generation component, an animated transition from displaying the indication of the route displayed from the first perspective to displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from a second perspective, wherein an angle of the first perspective relative to a respective reference is different than an angle of the second perspective relative to the respective reference; and after displaying the animated transition, displaying, via the display generation component, the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the second perspective; and detecting that a current location of the electronic device satisfies one or more second criteria; and in response to detecting that the current location of the electronic device satisfies one or more second criteria, displaying, via the display generation component, the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from a third perspective having a different lateral angle relative to a portion of the map corresponding to the current location of the electronic device than a lateral angle relative to the portion of the map corresponding to the current location of the electronic device of the second perspective, wherein: in accordance with a determination that the upcoming maneuver of the route has a first characteristic, the third perspective has a first lateral angle; and in accordance with a determination that the upcoming maneuver of the route has a second characteristic different from the first characteristic, the third perspective has a second lateral angle different from the first lateral angle. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the first perspective, displaying an indication of a current location of the electronic device with a first size; and while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the second perspective, displaying the indication of the current location of the electronic device with a second size different from the first size. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the first perspective includes displaying the indication of the route with a first size, and displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the second perspective includes displaying the indication of the route with a second size different from the first size. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the first perspective, displaying a first portion of the indication of the route that is occluded by a representation of a first physical object with a first visual characteristic, and displaying a second portion of the indication of the route that is not occluded by the representation of the first physical object with a second visual characteristic different from the first visual characteristic; and while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the second perspective, forgoing displaying a third portion of the indication of the route that is occluded by a representation of a second physical object, and displaying a fourth portion of the indication of the route that is not occluded by the representation of the second physical object with a third visual characteristic. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the first perspective, displaying an indication of a current location of the electronic device, wherein: in accordance with a determination that a first portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device is occluded by a representation of a first physical object, displaying the first portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device with a first visual characteristic, and in accordance with a determination that the first portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device is not occluded by the representation of the first physical object, displaying the first portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device with a second visual characteristic different from the first visual characteristic; and while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map displayed from the second perspective, displaying the indication of the current location of the electronic device, wherein: in accordance with a determination that a second portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device is occluded by a representation of a second physical object, displaying the second portion of the second indication of the current location of the electronic device with a third visual characteristic, and in accordance with a determination that the second portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device is not occluded by the representation of the second physical object, displaying the second portion of the indication of the current location of the electronic device with a fourth visual characteristic different from the third visual characteristic. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein: while displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map from the second perspective: in accordance with a determination that an elevation of a topography of the map at a current location of the electronic device is a first elevation, the second perspective is at a first respective elevation corresponding to the first elevation of the current location of the electronic device; and in accordance with a determination that an elevation of the topography of the map at the current location of the electronic device is a second elevation different from the first elevation, the second perspective is at a second respective elevation corresponding to the second elevation of the current location of the electronic device. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: displaying, via the display generation component in a list user interface, a plurality of visual indications of a plurality of maneuvers of the route; and while displaying the plurality of visual indications of the plurality of maneuvers of the route: receiving, via the one or more input devices, an input corresponding to selection of a respective visual indication of the plurality of visual indications of the plurality of maneuvers of the route; and in response to receiving the input corresponding to selection of the respective visual indication: displaying, via the display generation component, a portion of the indication of the route on the representation of the map that corresponds to the respective visual indication. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein: displaying the indication of the route on the representation of the map from the second perspective includes displaying a visual indication associa
