Embodiments provide a wearable article for a performance capture system. In some embodiments, a wearable article includes one or more regions, where the one or more regions are configured to be worn on at least a portion of a body of a user, where the one or more regions have a first pliability and a second pliability, where the first pliability and the second pliability are different pliabilities, and where at least one of the one or more regions are configured to hold devices in predetermined positions while maintaining shape and respective pliability. In some embodiments, the wearable article also includes a plurality of mounting mechanisms coupled to the one or more regions for mounting one or more reference markers to be used for position determination.

We claim: 1. A wearable article for a performance capture system, the wearable article comprising: one or more regions of the wearable article, wherein the one or more regions are configured to be worn on at least a portion of a body of a user; at least one first region of the one or more regions having a first pliability corresponding to a stiffness, wherein the stiffness enables the at least one first region to hold devices in predetermined positions on the wearable article, and wherein the devices comprise a plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system; at least one second region of the one or more regions having a second pliability, wherein the second pliability is more pliable than the first pliability, and wherein the at least one second region is coupled between two or more first regions to allow movement of the user; and a plurality of mounting mechanisms coupled to the one or more regions for mounting one or more reference markers of the plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system to be used for position determination, wherein plurality of reference markers protrudes through the plurality of mounting mechanisms, and wherein positions of the one or more reference markers are computed relative to one or more cameras. 2. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of mounting mechanisms comprises reference marker housings that house the one or more reference markers and fasteners, wherein the reference marker housings protrude through the plurality of mounting mechanisms from an inner layer toward an outer layer of the wearable article, and wherein the fasteners are placed over the reference marker housings. 3. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the one or more regions comprise at least one adjustment mechanism coupled to at least one first region of the one or more regions, and wherein the at least one adjustment mechanism enables the at least one first region to expand or contract. 4. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more torso portions, one or more arm portions, and one or more leg portions. 5. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more underarm portions and one or more crotch portions. 6. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the one or more reference markers comprise an active reference marker. 7. The wearable article of claim 1 , wherein the one or more reference markers comprise a passive reference marker. 8. A system for facilitating a performance capture system, the system comprising: one or more processors; and logic encoded in one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media for execution by the one or more processors and when executed operable to cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising exchanging one or more of control signals and data signals with a wearable article, wherein the wearable article comprises: one or more regions of the wearable article, wherein the one or more regions are configured to be worn on at least a portion of a body of a user; at least one first region of the one or more regions having a first pliability corresponding to a stiffness, wherein the stiffness enables the at least one first region to hold devices in predetermined positions on the wearable article, and wherein the devices comprise a plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system; at least one second region of the one or more regions having a second pliability, wherein the second pliability is more pliable than the first pliability, and wherein the at least one second region is coupled between two or more first regions to allow movement of the user; and a plurality of mounting mechanisms coupled to the one or more regions for mounting one or more reference markers of the plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system to be used for position determination, wherein plurality of reference markers protrudes through the plurality of mounting mechanisms, and wherein positions of the one or more reference markers are computed relative to one or more cameras. 9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one second region is coupled to the at least one first region and configured to allow movement of the user. 10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more regions comprise at least one adjustment mechanism coupled to at least one first region of the one or more regions, and wherein the at least one adjustment mechanism enables the at least one first region to expand or contract. 11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more torso portions, one or more arm portions, and one or more leg portions. 12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more underarm portions and one or more crotch portions. 13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more reference markers comprise an active reference marker. 14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more reference markers comprise a passive reference marker. 15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with program instructions stored thereon, the program instructions when executed by one or more processors are operable to cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising exchanging one or more of control signals and data signals with a wearable article, wherein the wearable article comprises: one or more regions of the wearable article, wherein the one or more regions are configured to be worn on at least a portion of a body of a user; at least one first region of the one or more regions having a first pliability corresponding to a stiffness, wherein the stiffness enables the at least one first region to hold devices in predetermined positions on the wearable article, and wherein the devices comprise a plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system; at least one second region of the one or more regions having a second pliability, wherein the second pliability is more pliable than the first pliability, and wherein the at least one second region is coupled between two or more first regions to allow movement of the user; and a plurality of mounting mechanisms coupled to the one or more regions for mounting one or more reference markers of the plurality of reference markers of the performance capture system to be used for position determination, wherein plurality of reference markers protrudes through the plurality of mounting mechanisms, and wherein positions of the one or more reference markers are computed relative to one or more cameras. 16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the at least one second region is coupled to the at least one first region and configured to allow movement of the user. 17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more regions comprise at least one adjustment mechanism coupled to at least one first region of the one or more regions, and wherein the at least one adjustment mechanism enables the at least one first region to expand or contract. 18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more torso portions, one or more arm portions, and one or more leg portions. 19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more regions comprise one or more underarm portions and one or more crotch portions. 20.
