Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A gaming machine receives a first play input at a first gaming machine, determines a first quantity of play areas based on a first wager, generates at least one first play area based on the determined first quantity, and determines whether the at least one first play area satisfies a predetermined first threshold. At least a portion of the first wager associated with the first play input is allocated to a progressive jackpot. At least a first portion of the progressive jackpot is allocated to the first gaming machine when the at least one first play area satisfies the predetermined first threshold.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for presenting game play of a game of chance, the system comprising: a plurality of gaming machines including a first gaming machine that provides a first primary game type and a second gaming machine that provides a second primary game type different than the first primary game type, both the first gaming machine and the second gaming machine participating in a progressive prize provided by a secondary game; and a gaming server in communication with the plurality of gaming machines, one or more of the gaming server and the first and second gaming machines comprising at least one processor executing instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to: generate a master set of identifiers for the secondary game; in response to receiving first and second inputs from the first gaming machine and the second gaming machine, respectively, allocate first and second portions of the first and second inputs to the progressive prize, the allocation including normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs from the first and second gaming machines before allocation to the progressive prize, and cause to be displayed one or more secondary bingo cards at each of the first and second gaming machines as part of a round of play of the secondary game; compare the master set of identifiers with respective pluralities of identifiers of the one or more secondary bingo cards during a round of game play; and determine that respective matching identifiers of a winning secondary bingo card from the one or more secondary bingo cards satisfies a winning pattern for the secondary game, the winning secondary bingo card being associated with a winning gaming machine from one of the first and second gaming machines, and in response to the determination, the gaming server awards the progressive prize to the winning gaming machine. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs includes normalizing the first and second portions based on wager amounts provided on the first and second gaming machines. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs further includes providing a quantity of secondary bingo cards based on the wager amounts provided on the first and second gaming machines. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first primary game type is a slot style game and the second primary game type is a card style game. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to identify a plurality of winning patterns associated with the secondary game, wherein each winning pattern of the plurality of winning patterns is associated with at least one progressive jackpot of a plurality of progressive jackpots. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the master set of identifiers is further used to evaluate one or more primary bingo cards provided for play of the first primary game type and the second primary game type. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to generate a second master set of identifiers for a primary game associated with one or more of the first primary game type and the second primary game type, the second master set of identifiers being used to evaluate wager outcomes of the primary game and excluding the progressive prize. 8. A method for presenting game play of a game of chance on a plurality of gaming machines coupled to a gaming server, the plurality of gaming machines including a first gaming machine and a second gaming machine, the method comprising: generating a master set of identifiers for a secondary game, the secondary game including a progressive prize in which the first and second gaming machines participate, the first gaming machine providing a first primary game type, the second gaming machine providing a second primary game type that is different than the first primary game type; in response to receiving first and second inputs from the first gaming machine and the second gaming machine, respectively, allocating first and second portions of the first and second inputs to the progressive prize, the allocation including normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs from the first and second gaming machines before allocation to the progressive prize, and causing to be displayed one or more secondary bingo cards at each of the first and second gaming machines as part of a round of play of the secondary game; comparing the master set of identifiers with respective pluralities of identifiers of the one or more secondary bingo cards during a round of game play; and determining that respective matching identifiers of a winning secondary bingo card from the one or more secondary bingo cards satisfies a winning pattern for the secondary game, the winning secondary bingo card being associated with a winning gaming machine from one of the first and second gaming machines, and in response to the determination, the gaming server awards the progressive prize to the winning gaming machine. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs includes normalizing the first and second portions based on wager amounts provided on the first and second gaming machines. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs further includes providing a quantity of secondary bingo cards based on the wager amounts provided on the first and second gaming machines. 11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first primary game type is a slot style game and the second primary game type is a card style game. 12. The method of claim 8 further comprising identifying a plurality of winning patterns associated with the secondary game, wherein each winning pattern of the plurality of winning patterns is associated with at least one progressive jackpot of a plurality of progressive jackpots. 13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the master set of identifiers is further used to evaluate one or more primary bingo cards provided for play of the first primary game type and the second primary game type. 14. The method of claim 8 further comprising generating a second master set of identifiers for a primary game associated with one or more of the first primary game type and the second primary game type, the second master set of identifiers being used to evaluate wager outcomes of the primary game and excluding the progressive prize. 15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by at least one processor of one or more of a gaming server, a first gaming machine, and a second gaming machine, cause the at least one processor to: generate a master set of identifiers for a secondary game, the secondary game including a progressive prize in which the first and second gaming machines participate, the first gaming machine providing a first primary game type, the second gaming machine providing a second primary game type that is different than the first primary game type; in response to receiving first and second inputs from the first gaming machine and the second gaming machine, respectively, allocate first and second portions of the first and second inputs to the progressive prize, the allocation including normalizing the first and second portions of the first and second inputs from the first and second gaming machines before allocation to the progressive prize, and cause to be displayed one or
