A connector may couple to a non-cylindrical composite tubing having at least two lateral sides disposed in parallel and an open end. The connector may comprise first and second bonding plates adhered to an inner surface of the two lateral sides via an epoxy adhesive uniformly distributed. The first and second bonding plates may each have a distal lateral face defining a plurality of first threaded holes accessible at the open end of the composite tubing. The connector may also comprise an end plate having a plurality of first and second slotted holes disposed substantially in parallel and each aligned with an associating one of the first threaded holes. The connector may also comprise end plate fasteners loosely inserted through the first and second slotted holes and engaged with the first threaded holes. The end plate may also comprise one or more attachment points.

What is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent is set forth in the appended claims: 1. A connector for premanufactured non-cylindrical composite tubing, comprising: a composite tubing being non-cylindrical and extending in a lengthwise direction about a central axis, said composite tubing having at least two lateral sides that are parallel to each other, said at least two lateral sides being longitudinally-oriented relative to said lengthwise direction and to said central longitudinal axis, and an open end defining a hollow interior portion; first and second bonding plates adhered to an inner surface of said at least two lateral sides and within said open end and said hollow interior portion of said composite tubing via an epoxy adhesive uniformly distributed, said first and second bonding plates each having a distal lateral face defining a plurality of first threaded holes accessible at said open end of said composite tubing; an end plate having an outer cross sectional shape matching an outer cross sectional shape of said open end of said composite tubing and a plurality of first and second slotted holes disposed substantially in parallel with each other and each aligned with an associated one of said first threaded holes, wherein said end plate comprises one or more attachment points; wherein said first and second bonding plates are oriented orthogonally to said end plate and are disposed substantially in parallel with each other, wherein said distal lateral faces are flush with said open end of said composite tubing; and a plurality of end plate fasteners loosely inserted through said first and second slotted holes and engaged with said plurality of first threaded holes; wherein said end plate is configured to terminate said open end of said composite tubing. 2. The connector recited in claim 1 , characterized in that said at least two lateral sides of said composite tubing comprise a plurality of through-holes; and wherein said first and second bonding plates comprise a plurality of second threaded holes, each being aligned with an associated one of said plurality of through-holes of said composite tubing. 3. The connector recited in claim 2 , further comprising a plurality of bonding plate fasteners inserted through said plurality of through-holes of said composite tubing and engaged with said plurality of second threaded holes of said first and second bonding plates. 4. The connector recited in claim 3 , characterized in that said end plate fasteners and said bonding plate fasteners are threaded bolt fasteners. 5. The connector recited in claim 4 , characterized in that said plurality of through-holes and said plurality of second threaded holes are arranged in a predetermined torque pattern for fastening said plurality of bonding plate fasteners using a bolt tightening sequence. 6. The connector recited in claim 1 , characterized in that said composite tubing is constructed of carbon fiber. 7. The connector recited in claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of shims each having a predetermined thickness; wherein said plurality of shims is coupled to said inner surface and is disposed: (1) between said first bonding plate and said inner surface of said composite tubing and (2) between said second bonding plate and said inner surface of said composite tubing. 8. The connector recited in claim 7 , characterized in that said predetermined thickness for each of said plurality of shims is approximately 0.010 inches. 9. The connector recited in claim 1 , characterized in that said composite tubing is generally rectangular. 10. The connector recited in claim 7 , wherein each shim in said plurality of shims is a wedge allowing said uniform distribution of said epoxy adhesive, wherein each shim in said plurality of shims is configured to maintain a predetermined bond line thickness of said epoxy adhesive.
