A mated connector assembly includes: a first connector assembly, comprising a plurality of first coaxial connectors mounted on a mounting structure and a first shell; and a second connector assembly, comprising a plurality of second coaxial connectors, each of the second coaxial connectors connected with a respective coaxial cable and mated with a respective first coaxial connector. The second connector assembly includes a second shell surrounding the second coaxial connectors, the second shell defining a plurality of electrically isolated cavities, each of the second coaxial connectors being located in a respective cavity. In in a mated condition the second shell resides within the first shell.

That which is claimed is: 1. An assembly of coaxial connectors, comprising: a plurality of coaxial connectors, each of the coaxial connectors connected with a respective cable; a housing surrounding the coaxial connectors, the housing defining a plurality of cavities, each of the coaxial connectors being located in a respective cavity; wherein each of the coaxial connectors includes an outer connector body that resides within a respective cavity, and wherein a clearance gap is present between the outer connector body and the housing; and wherein each of the outer connector bodies includes a first radially-outwardly-extending flange, and wherein each one of a plurality of springs encircles a respective outer connector body, the spring disposed between the first flange of the connector body and the housing, the spring enabling the outer connector body to float axially, radially and angularly relative to the housing. 2. The assembly defined in claim 1 , wherein each of the outer connector bodies includes a second radially-outwardly-extending flange positioned forwardly of the first flange. 3. The assembly defined in claim 2 , wherein the second flange includes a forwardly-extending projection that defines a trepan gap with the outer connector body. 4. The assembly defined in claim 3 , wherein the trepan gap of the outer connector body is positioned and configured to receive a free end of a mating coaxial connector. 5. The assembly defined in claim 3 , wherein the trepan gap includes a beveled surface. 6. The assembly defined in claim 1 , wherein the assembly is a first assembly and the coaxial connectors are first coaxial connectors, the first assembly being in combination with a second mating coaxial connector assembly, the second assembly comprising a plurality of second coaxial connectors mounted on a mounting structure, each of the second coaxial connectors mated with a respective first coaxial connector. 7. The combination defined in claim 6 , wherein the second coaxial connectors are mounted to a mounting structure. 8. The combination defined in claim 7 , wherein the mounting structure is a piece of electronic equipment. 9. The assembly defined in claim 1 , wherein the plurality of first coaxial connectors comprises four coaxial connectors arranged in a generally square pattern. 10. The assembly defined in claim 1 , wherein the plurality of first coaxial connectors comprises five coaxial connectors arranged in a generally cruciform pattern. 11. An assembly of coaxial connectors, comprising: a plurality of coaxial connectors, each of the coaxial connectors connected with a respective cable; a housing surrounding the coaxial connectors, the housing defining a plurality of cavities, each of the coaxial connectors being located in a respective cavity; wherein each of the coaxial connectors includes an outer connector body that resides within a respective cavity, and wherein a clearance gap is present between the outer connector body and the housing; and wherein each of the outer connector bodies includes a first radially-outwardly-extending flange, the flange including a forwardly-extending projection that defines a trepan gap with the outer connector body. 12. The assembly defined in claim 11 , wherein the trepan gap of the outer connector body is positioned and configured to receive a free end of a mating coaxial connector. 13. The assembly defined in claim 12 , wherein the trepan gap includes a beveled surface. 14. The assembly defined in claim 11 , wherein the assembly is a first assembly and the coaxial connectors are first coaxial connectors, the first assembly being in combination with a second mating coaxial connector assembly, the second assembly comprising a plurality of second coaxial connectors mounted on a mounting structure, each of the second coaxial connectors mated with a respective first coaxial connector. 15. The combination defined in claim 14 , wherein the second coaxial connectors are mounted to a mounting structure. 16. The combination defined in claim 15 , wherein the mounting structure is a piece of electronic equipment. 17. The assembly defined in claim 11 , wherein the plurality of first coaxial connectors comprises four coaxial connectors arranged in a generally square pattern. 18. The assembly defined in claim 11 , wherein the plurality of first coaxial connectors comprises five coaxial connectors arranged in a generally cruciform pattern.
