The method of claim 1 , wherein the skin in need thereof comprises a fine line or wrinkle. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition increases the firmness of the skin. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is an emulsion. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the composition is an oil-in-water emulsion. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is a cream or a lotion. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is a solution. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is a gel. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is anhydrous. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract reduces oxidation in the skin. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises 0.001% to 20%, by weight, of the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises 0.001% to 5%, by weight, of the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract. 13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: water; a chelating agent; an additional moisturizing agent; and a thickening agent. 14. The method of claim 1 , wherein the skin in need thereof is dry skin, and the composition moisturizes the skin. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the composition further comprises avocado ( Persea gratissima ) oil. 16. A method of treating loose and/or sagging skin in a person's skin in need thereof, the method comprising topically applying to loose and/or sagging skin a composition comprising: a Syzygium cumini extract; avocado ( Persea gratissima ) oil; water; shea butter; stearyl alcohol; behenyl alcohol; glyceryl stearate; glycerin; lecithin or hydrogenated lecithin; and sodium hyaluronate, wherein the Syzygium cumini extract is an aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic extract from Syzygium cumini , and wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract reduces matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) activity in the skin and treats loose and/or sagging skin. 17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the water is present in an amount from 35-80% by weight. 18. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract is a lyophilized extract in powdered form. 19. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract is from the whole plant of Syzygium cumini. 20. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract is from the fruit of Syzygium cumini. 21. The method of claim 1 , wherein the Syzygium cumini extract is an alcoholic extract and the alcoholic extract is an ethanolic extract. 22. The method of claim 1 , wherein the Syzygium cumini extract is an aqueous-alcoholic extract and the aqueous-alcoholic extract is and aqueous-ethanolic extract. 23. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: cetyl palmitate; green tea extract; and methylparaben. 24. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: water; glycerin; shea butter; coconut oil; beeswax; sunflower seed oil phenoxyethanol; dimethicone; carbomer; and vitamin E. 25. The method of claim 1 , wherein the wax comprises beeswax. 26. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic Syzygium cumini extract is a powdered extract.
