Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A system and method for determining a dimension of a target. The method includes: determining a camera parameter, the camera parameter including at least one of a focal length, a yaw angle, a roll angle, a pitch angle, or a height of one or more cameras; acquiring a first image and a second image of an target captured by the one or more cameras; generating a first corrected image and a second corrected image by correcting the first image and the second image; determining a parallax between a pixel in the first corrected image and a corresponding pixel in the second corrected image; determining an outline of the target; and determining a dimension of the target based at least in part on the camera parameter, the parallax, and the outline of the target.

We claim: 1. A method for capturing an image, the method comprising: determining ambient brightness; determining an exposure time of a camera based on the ambient brightness and a relationship between various ambient brightness and exposure times; determining a reference brightness of a traffic light in a first reference image captured by the camera; determining an initial phase of alternating current for capturing the image based on the exposure time and the reference brightness; and determining a start time for capturing the image corresponding to the initial phase. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the ambient brightness includes: obtaining a second reference image; analyzing brightness data of each pixel in the second reference image; and determining the ambient brightness based on the brightness data of each pixel in the second reference image. 3. The method of claim 1 , determining the ambient brightness comprising: acquiring, by an optical sensor, brightness data in real time; and determining the ambient brightness based on the brightness data. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the ambient brightness includes: obtaining a third reference image including the traffic light, the third reference image including a plurality of pixels; and determining the ambient brightness based on brightness data of part of the plurality of pixels in the third reference image. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein determining the ambient brightness based on brightness data of part of the plurality of pixels in the third reference image includes: identifying pixels corresponding to the traffic light in the third reference image; and determining the ambient brightness based on brightness data of pixels other than the pixels corresponding to the traffic light in the third reference. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the exposure time of a camera based on the ambient brightness and a relationship between various ambient brightness and exposure times includes: determining the exposure time based on a parameter table that indicates the relationship between various ambient brightness and exposure times. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the initial phase of alternating current for capturing the image based on the exposure time and the reference brightness includes: determining a formula indicating a relationship between initial phases of alternating current and a brightness of the traffic light in the image; and designating, according to the formula, a specific initial phase of alternating current which corresponds to the reference brightness as the initial phase of alternating current. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the formula is obtained by at least performing an integral of brightness over the exposure time. 9. A system, comprising: at least one storage device including a set of instructions; and at least one processor in communication with the at least one storage device, wherein when executing the set of instructions, the at least one processor is directed to cause the system to implement operations including: determining ambient brightness; determining an exposure time of a camera based on the ambient brightness and a relationship between various ambient brightness and exposure times determining a reference brightness of a traffic light in a first reference image captured by the camera; determining an initial phase of alternating current for capturing the image based on the exposure time and the reference brightness; and determining a start time for capturing the image corresponding to the initial phase. 10.
