The invention claimed is: 1. A beverage system, comprising: a gasket comprising: a non-threaded portion comprising a substantially cylindrical body having: an external surface, an internal surface having at least one flange portion that is axially spaced from upper and lower ends of the internal surface, and a radially outwardly extending flange defining an outer diameter that radially extends beyond the external surface; a threaded portion comprising an externally threaded ring, wherein at least a portion of the externally threaded ring is coaxially disposed on at least a portion of the external surface of the non-threaded portion; and a beverage container having an external diameter that is equal to the outer diameter, wherein the gasket is configured to receive a vessel containing a beverage when said vessel is inserted through the gasket while the gasket is threadably coupled to the beverage container, and wherein the gasket is further configured to retain the vessel upon inversion of the beverage container. 2. The beverage system of claim 1 , wherein the beverage container has complementary threads adapted to engage the threaded portion of the gasket. 3. The beverage system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one flange portion includes an arcuate flange. 4. The beverage system of claim 1 , wherein each flange portion of the at least one flange portion is positioned along a first axial plane that is orthogonal to a central axis of the gasket. 5. The beverage system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one flange portion defines at least one gap. 6. A beverage system, consisting of: a gasket comprising: a non-threaded portion comprising a substantially cylindrical body having: an external surface, an internal surface having at least one flange portion that is axially spaced from upper and lower ends of the internal surface, and a radially outwardly extending flange defining an outer diameter that radially extends beyond the external surface; a threaded portion comprising an externally threaded ring, wherein at least a portion of the externally threaded ring is coaxially disposed on at least a portion of the external surface of the non-threaded portion; and a beverage container having an external diameter that is equal to the outer diameter, wherein the gasket is configured to receive a vessel containing a beverage when said vessel is inserted through the gasket while the gasket is threadably coupled to the beverage container, and wherein the unitary gasket is further configured to retain the vessel upon inversion of the beverage container. 7. A beverage system, comprising: a gasket comprising: a non-threaded portion comprising a substantially cylindrical body having: an external surface, an internal surface having at least one protrusion that is axially spaced from an upper end and a lower end of the internal surface, and a radially outwardly extending flange defining an outer diameter that radially extends beyond the external surface; a threaded portion comprising an externally threaded ring, wherein at least a portion of the externally threaded ring is coaxially disposed on at least a portion of the external surface of the non-threaded portion; and a beverage container having internal threads adapted to engage the threaded portion of the gasket, wherein the beverage container defines an external diameter that is equal to the outer diameter. 8. The beverage system of claim 5 , wherein the at least one gap is configured to permit air to escape from within the beverage container upon insertion of the vessel. 9. The beverage system of claim 1 , wherein the internal surface of the non-threaded portion defines an inner diameter, the threaded portion further comprising: a radially inwardly extending flange that is adjacent to a lower end of the internal surface, the radially inwardly extending flange having an internal diameter equal to the inner diameter. 10. The beverage system of claim 7 , wherein the at least one protrusion is sized to engage a beverage can. 11. The beverage system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one protrusion is adapted to create a friction fit between the gasket and the beverage can. 12. The beverage system of claim 7 , wherein the non-threaded portion comprises a compliant material. 13. The beverage system of claim 12 , wherein the compliant material comprises a rubber material or other polymeric material. 14. The beverage system of claim 13 , wherein the threaded portion comprises a plastic material or a metal material.
