A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.

The invention claimed is: 1. A fluid handling cassette for use in a peritoneal dialysis system, the cassette comprising: a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body, a membrane attached to the body and overlying the at least one pump chamber, and a plurality of flowpaths within the cassette for a fluid that includes a channel, the at least one pump chamber having a first port and a second port; a patient line port having an associated patient line valve and arranged for connection to a patient line for delivery of a dialysate to a peritoneal cavity of a patient and withdrawal of the dialysate from the patient, the patient line valve being in fluid communication with the first port of the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of the plurality of flowpaths for both the delivery of the dialysate and the withdrawal of the dialysate; a drain line port arranged for connection to a drain line, the drain line port being in fluid communication with the second port of the at least one pump chamber via at least a second one of the plurality of flowpaths; and a plurality of solution line spikes each having an associated solution line valve in fluid communication with the first port of the at least one pump chamber via the first one of the plurality of flowpaths for delivery of a solution to the at least one pump chamber, wherein the first one of the plurality of flowpaths does not extend through the at least one pump chamber. 2. The cassette of claim 1 , wherein the at least one pump chamber includes one or more spacer elements that extend from an inner wall of the depression and are arranged to minimize deformation of the membrane at edges of the one or more spacer elements when the membrane is forced against the one or more spacer elements. 3. The cassette of claim 2 , wherein the one or more spacer elements are arranged in a concentric elliptical pattern. 4. The cassette of claim 3 , wherein the one or more spacer elements vary in height. 5. The cassette of claim 4 , wherein the one or more spacer elements vary in height such that ends of the one or more spacer elements increase in height from a bottom portion of the inner wall with distance away from a center of the at least one pump chamber. 6. The cassette of claim 5 , wherein the one or more spacer elements form a semielliptical domed shaped region. 7. The cassette of claim 3 , wherein the concentric elliptical pattern of the one or more spacer elements includes breaks in the pattern. 8. The cassette of claim 7 , wherein the breaks in the pattern are symmetrical. 9. The cassette of claim 1 , wherein the body includes a vacuum vent clearance depression formed adjacent the at least one pump chamber, the vacuum vent clearance depression being configured to allow a vacuum vent port of a cycler of the peritoneal dialysis system to remove air or a fluid from between the membrane and a control surface of the cycler of the peritoneal dialysis system. 10. The cassette of claim 9 , wherein the vacuum vent clearance depression extends outwards from the at least one pump chamber. 11. A fluid handling cassette for use in a peritoneal dialysis system, the cassette comprising: a generally planar body having a first end opposite a second end, at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel, the at least one pump chamber including a plurality of spacer elements that extend from an inner wall of the depression to different extents; a patient line port at the first end of the body and arranged for connection to a patient line for delivery of a dialysate to a peritoneal cavity of a patient and withdrawal of the dialysate from the patient, the patient line port being in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of the plurality of flowpaths for both the delivery of the dialysate and the withdrawal of the dialysate; a drain line port at the first end of the body and arranged for connection to a drain line, the drain line port being in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a second one of the plurality of flowpaths; a plurality of solution line spikes at the second end of the body in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via the first one of the plurality of flowpaths for delivery of a solution to the at least one pump chamber; and a membrane attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber, being arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in the at least one pump chamber, wherein the spacer elements help prevent contact of the membrane with the inner wall of the depression when a pump chamber portion of the membrane is moved into contact with the spacer elements. 12. A fluid handling cassette for use in a peritoneal dialysis system, the cassette comprising: a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths within the cassette for a fluid that includes a channel, the at least one pump chamber having a first port and a second port; a patient line port having an associated patient line valve and arranged for connection to a patient line for delivery of a dialysate to a peritoneal cavity of a patient and withdrawal of the dialysate from the patient, the patient line valve being in fluid communication with the first port of the at least one pump chamber via a first one of the plurality of flowpaths for both the delivery of the dialysate and the withdrawal of the dialysate; a drain line port arranged for connection to a drain line, the drain line port being in fluid communication with the second port of the at least one pump chamber via a second one of the plurality of flowpaths; a plurality of solution line spikes each having an associated solution line valve in fluid communication with the first port of the at least one pump chamber via the first one of the plurality of flowpaths for delivery of a solution to the at least one pump chamber; and a flexible membrane attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber, a portion of the membrane over the at least one pump chamber being arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in the at least one pump chamber; wherein the first one of the plurality of flowpaths does not extend through the at least one pump chamber. 13. A fluid handling cassette for use with a fluid handling system of a medical infusion device, the cassette comprising: a generally planar body having a first end opposite a second end, at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel, the at least one pump chamber including one or more spacer elements that extend from an inner wall of the depression; a patient line port at the first end of the body and arranged for connection to a patient line for both delivery of a dialysate solution to a patient and withdrawal of the dialysate solution from the patient, the patient line port being in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of the plurality of flowpaths; a drain line port at the first end of the body and arranged for connection to a drain line, the drain line port being in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a second one of the plurality of flowpaths; a plurality of solution line spikes at the second end of the body in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via the first one of the plurality of fl
