An apparatus is described for dispensing cosmetic material from a cartridge onto a dispensing surface. The apparatus includes a retractable plate disposed beneath the detachable portion, where a dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is configured to penetrate the retractable plate and the detachable portion. When the retractable plate is at a stable highest position, the dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is flush with the surface of the retractable plate. When the retractable plate is moved to a predetermined stable downward position below the highest position, and the detachable portion is placed on the retractable surface, the dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is flush with the dispensing surface and the retractable plate is configured to move even further downward to an unstable position in response to a downward force on the detachable portion.

What is claimed is: 1. An apparatus for dispensing cosmetic material, comprising: a dispensing device configured to receive at least one cartridge that contains a cosmetic material and to dispense a specified amount of the cosmetic material from the cartridge onto a dispensing surface; wherein the dispensing surface is configured to be part of a detachable portion of the apparatus, and the dispensing device further includes a retractable plate disposed beneath the detachable portion, wherein a dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is configured to penetrate the retractable plate and the detachable portion, such that (i) when the retractable plate is at a stable highest position, the dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is flush with the surface of the retractable plate, (ii) when the retractable plate is moved to a predetermined stable downward position below the highest position, and the detachable portion is placed on the retractable surface, the dispensing end of the at least one cartridge is flush with the dispensing surface and the retractable plate is configured to move even further downward to an unstable position in response to a downward force on the detachable portion. 2. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a cleaning formula reservoir disposed between a body of the dispensing device and the retractable plate, and the cleaning formula reservoir has a dispensing end that is configured to penetrate the retractable plate and the detachable portion and is configured to dispense a cleaning formula onto the dispensing surface when the retractable plate is configured to move even further downward to the unstable position. 3. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a spring mechanism that is coupled to a bottom surface of the retractable plate at one end and a body of the dispensing device at another end. 4. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one cartridge is configured to dispense a remaining amount of the cosmetic material from the cartridge onto the dispensing surface when the retractable plate is configured to move even further downward to the unstable position.
