Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A dewatering device for aggregate product can be used to retro-fit existing aggregate product dewatering facilities in order to more efficiently capture product. The dewatering device can be movable to allow for the portability of the device relative to existing dewatering facilities. The device is adapted to receive a slurry of aggregate product and water and to vibrate to dry the aggregate product. A recycle system is included to receive any fines that may otherwise be lost by the system. The recycle system captures the fines and redirects them back towards the vibrating process of the vibrating device to direct them towards an exit of the vibrating device in order to use said fines as well as the other dewatered aggregate product. The portability of the device allows the device to be used with the existing facilities without the need to completely replace existing components for dewatering aggregate product.

What is claimed is: 1. A dewatering device for aggregate product, comprising: a vibrating screen for receiving aggregate product from a screw conveyor, the vibrating screen having an entrance disposed to receive said aggregate product and said water, said vibrating screen including a screening medium and a vibrating system configured to cause vibration of said screening medium, wherein in operation of said vibrating screen a subset of said aggregate product passes through said screening medium, said subset of said aggregate product comprising fine material; and a recycle system positioned at least partially below the vibrating screen, wherein the recycle system comprises: a reservoir member disposed to receive said fine material from said vibrating screen; and a conveyance device, said conveyance device having an inlet for receiving water from a water source separate from said vibrating screen, said conveyance device configured to mix said fine material with said water, said conveyance device configured so move said fine material and said water toward said screw conveyor, said conveyance device having an outlet disposed to dispense said fine material into said screw conveyor. 2. The dewatering device of claim 1 , whereby said water at least partially aids the movement of fine material received from the reservoir member back to the screw conveyor. 3. The dewatering device of claim 2 , wherein the screw conveyor comprises a portion of a drying system. 4. The dewatering device of claim 2 , wherein the screw conveyor comprises an inclined screw conveyor. 5. The dewatering device of claim 1 , wherein said vibrating screen includes an exit for passing dewatered aggregate product. 6. The dewatering device of claim 1 , wherein the vibrating system comprises one or more vibrating motors to linearly and horizontally move said vibrating screen. 7. The dewatering device of claim 1 , wherein the vibrating system comprises a flywheel operatively connected to the vibrating screen to move said screen. 8. A dewatering device for aggregate product, comprising: a vibrating screen for receiving aggregate product from a screw conveyor, the vibrating screen having an entrance disposed to receive said aggregate product and said water, said vibrating screen including a screening medium and a vibrating system configured to cause vibration of said screening medium, wherein in operation of said vibrating screen a subset of said aggregate product passes through said screening medium, said subset of said aggregate product comprising fine material; and a recycle system positioned at least partially below the vibrating screen, wherein the recycle system comprises: a reservoir member disposed to receive said fine material; and a conveyance device, said conveyance device configured to mix said subset of said fine material with water, said conveyance device configured so move said subset of fine material and said water toward said screw conveyor, said conveyance device having an outlet disposed to dispense said fine material into said screw conveyor, wherein the reservoir member comprises an underflume having an aperture, wherein the recycle system comprises a passage operatively connected to the underflume, said passage directing said fine material in the underflume to the screw conveyor. 9. The dewatering device of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of said passage is oriented at least partially upward, and wherein at least a portion of said passage is oriented at least partially rearward relative to the direction of movement of material on said screw conveyor. 10. The dewatering device of claim 9 , wherein said passage is in communication with the screw conveyor for conveying fine material and water from said system to said screw conveyor, wherein said screw conveyor conveys the fine materials to said vibrating screen. 11. The dewatering device of claim 10 , wherein said passage is enclosed between an inlet and outlet of said passage. 12. The dewatering device of claim 10 , wherein said conveyance device is configured to increase a speed of said fine material. 13. The dewatering device of claim 10 , wherein said conveyance device is configured to increase a speed of said water. 14. The dewatering device of claim 8 , wherein fine materials are redirected from below said screening medium to a generally upper end of said screw conveyor. 15. The dewatering device of claim 8 , whereby fine materials are redirected from below said screening medium to the entrance of the vibrating screen. 16. The dewatering device of claim 8 , wherein said conveyance device is in fluid communication with said screw conveyor. 17. A dewatering device for aggregate product, comprising: a vibrating screen for receiving aggregate product from a screw conveyor, the vibrating screen having an entrance disposed to receive said aggregate product and said water, said vibrating screen including a screening medium and a vibrating system configured to cause vibration of said screening medium, wherein in operation of said vibrating screen a subset of said aggregate product passes through said screening medium, said subset of said aggregate product comprising fine material; and a recycle system positioned at least partially below the vibrating screen, wherein the recycle system comprises: a reservoir member disposed to receive said fine material; and a conveyance device, said conveyance device configured to mix said subset of said fine material with water, said conveyance device configured so move said subset of fine material and said water toward said screw conveyor, said conveyance device having an outlet disposed to dispense said fine material into said screw conveyor, wherein the conveyance device communicates fine material from a first height lower than the vibrating screen to a second height, the second height being higher than the first height. 18. The dewatering device of claim 17 , wherein the screw conveyor conveys the fine materials to a third height, the third height being higher than the second height, whereby the fine material falls by gravity from the screw conveyor onto the vibrating screen. 19. A method of recycling fine materials through a vibrating screen, comprising: receiving material from a screw conveyor; receiving fine materials from a lower portion of a vibrating screen; receiving water from a lower portion of a vibrating screen; at least partially using the water, lifting at least a portion of the fine materials toward the screw conveyor; dispensing the fine materials into the screw conveyor; and mixing or further mixing the fine materials and water to form a mixture; and increasing a velocity of the mixture along a direction generally oriented toward the screw conveyor. 20. The method of claim 19 , further comprising: via the screw conveyor, transferring the fine materials to an entrance of the vibrating screen.
