The present invention provides a tread rubber composition that is excellent in wet grip performance during the initial phase of running and tensile properties, and a pneumatic tire including the tread rubber composition. The present invention relates to a tread rubber composition containing: a diene rubber; silica; and sulfur and/or a sulfur-containing compound, the tread rubber composition satisfying the following relationships (1) to (3): EB/M300≥50  (1); M100≥1.7 MPa  (2); and EB≥500%  (3).

The invention claimed is: 1. A tire comprising a tread formed of a tread rubber composition, the tread rubber composition comprising: a diene rubber; silica; and at least one of sulfur or a sulfur-containing compound, the tread rubber composition satisfying the following relationships (1) to (3): 70≤EB/M300≤200  (1); M100≥2.0 MPa  (2); and EB≥580%  (3). 2. The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the diene rubber comprises at least one of a modified styrene-butadiene rubber or a modified polybutadiene rubber. 3. The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the diene rubber comprises an alkoxysilyl-modified styrene-butadiene rubber. 4. The tire according to claim 1 , comprising at least one of a sulfur-containing oligomer or a rosin resin. 5. A tire comprising a tread formed of a tread rubber composition, comprising: a diene rubber; silica; and at least one of sulfur or a sulfur-containing compound, the tread rubber composition satisfying the following relationships (1) to (4): EB/M300≥70  (1); M100≥2.0 MPa  (2); EB≥580%  (3); and 6.7 MPa≤M300≤9.7 MPa  (4). 6. A tire comprising a tread formed of a tread rubber composition, comprising: a diene rubber; silica; and at least one of sulfur or a sulfur-containing compound, the tread rubber composition satisfying the following relationships (1) to (4): 70≤EB/M300≤200  (1); M100≥2.0 MPa  (2); EB≥580%  (3); and 6.7 MPa≤M300≤9.7 MPa  (4).
