A hairstyling apparatus is shown. The apparatus includes a heated barrel with a central axis. It also includes a heating element connected with the barrel and a rotating member located an end of the barrel and configured to rotate around the central axis of the barrel. The rotating member includes at least one a tab extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of a longitudinally extending portion of the hairstyling surface. At least one rod with at least one comb attached to said at least one tab. The rod is heated by the heating element during use of the apparatus.

The invention claimed is: 1. A hairstyling apparatus comprising: a barrel defining a hairstyling surface and a central longitudinal axis, wherein the barrel has a first proximal end and a second distal end; a heating element in thermal communication with the barrel; a rotating member located at the proximal end of the barrel and configured to rotate around the central axis of the barrel, the rotating member including at least one tab extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of a longitudinally extending portion of the hairstyling surface; and at least one rod attached to said at least one tab; wherein said rod is heated by the heating element during use of the apparatus. 2. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 , wherein at least one comb is attached to said at least one tab. 3. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 2 , wherein at least one comb is removably attached to the tab. 4. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the tab is radially displaced from the hairstyling surface and comb teeth extend towards the hairstyling surface at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis and wherein said comb teeth do not contact the hairstyling surface. 5. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rotating member comprises three tabs and three rods wherein each tab includes one rod adapted to transfer heat. 6. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the rotating member further comprises additional tabs extending along the longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface. 7. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the tabs are arranged evenly along a circumferential direction of the hairstyling surface. 8. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 5 , wherein at least one of the rods is replaced with a fin extending towards the hairstyling surface. 9. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the fin is reversibly attached to one tab. 10. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the fin is made from a flexible material selected from the group consisting of silicone, rubber, or plastic. 11. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the rotating member further comprises one or more hair retaining elements disposed around a peripheral region of a rotating plate. 12. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the rotating member comprises a rotating plate that surrounds the proximal end of the barrel. 13. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 12 , wherein said at least one rod is in contact with said rotating plate. 14. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 wherein each rod comprises iron, aluminum, copper, combinations thereof. 15. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 wherein the at least one rod is in rotatable communication with its tab. 16. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 1 wherein said at least one tab comprises multiple tabs of variable size. 17. A hairstyling apparatus comprising: a barrel defining a hairstyling surface and a central longitudinal axis, wherein the barrel has a first proximal end and a second distal end; a heating element in thermal communication with the barrel; and a rotating member located at the proximal end of the barrel and configured to rotate around the central axis of the barrel, the rotating member comprising at least one tab extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of a longitudinally extending portion of the hairstyling surface; at least one rod received by at least one of said tab; wherein the rotating member further comprises one or more additional tabs extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface; wherein at least one of the additional tabs is shorter than at least one other tab. 18. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 17 wherein said at least one rod is removable. 19. The hairstyling apparatus of claim 18 further comprising one or more combs attached to said at least one tab. 20. A hairstyling apparatus comprising: a barrel defining a hairstyling surface and a central longitudinal axis, wherein the barrel has a first proximal end and a second distal end; a heating element in thermal communication with the barrel; and a rotating member located at the proximal end of the barrel and configured to rotate around the central axis of the barrel, the rotating member comprising a tab extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of a longitudinally extending portion of the hairstyling surface; at least one rod received by at least one of said tab; wherein the rotating member further comprises one or more hair retaining elements disposed around a peripheral region of a rotating plate; wherein the one or more hair retaining elements comprises ridges that protrude from the rotating plate away from the hairstyling surface and extend along the longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface.
