Official abstract text for this publication.
A spinal implant comprises an implant body extending between an anterior surface and a posterior surface and includes a first vertebral engaging surface and a second vertebral engaging surface. The implant body includes an inner surface that defines at least one cavity that is oriented to implant a fastener oblique relative to a lateral axis of a subject body and adjacent an intervertebral space of the subject body. At least one indicia is disposed with the implant body to facilitate orientation of the implant body with the subject body. Systems and methods are disclosed.

What is claimed is: 1. A spinal implant comprising: a monolithic implant body extending along a transverse axis between an anterior surface and a posterior surface, the implant body defining a longitudinal axis extending perpendicular to the transverse axis, the implant body further including an oblique surface extending oblique to the axes, the oblique surface having a first end connected to the anterior surface and a second end connected to the posterior surface, the anterior surface being continuously curved from the first end to the posterior surface, the posterior surface being continuously curved from the second end to the anterior surface, the oblique surface defining at least one screw hole extending oblique to the longitudinal axis, the anterior surface and the posterior surface each extending from a first vertebral engaging surface to an opposite second vertebral engaging surface, the second vertebral engaging surface being fixed relative to the first vertebral engaging surface, the implant body including an opening extending through the vertebral engaging surfaces; and a plate removably coupled to the oblique surface, wherein, in use, the oblique surface extends oblique to a lateral axis of a patient body, the lateral axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axis. 2. The spinal implant recited in claim 1 , wherein the at least one screw hole defines a screw hole extending at an oblique angle relative to the lateral axis. 3. The spinal implant recited in claim 2 , wherein the oblique angle is oriented approximately 0 to 45 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 4. The spinal implant recited in claim 2 , wherein the oblique angle is oriented approximately 15 to 30 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 5. The spinal implant recited in claim 1 , wherein the at least one screw hole defines a first screw hole and a second screw hole, the second screw hole being spaced apart from the first screw hole, the first screw hole extending at a first oblique angle relative to the lateral axis, the second screw hole extending at a second oblique angle relative to the lateral axis. 6. The spinal implant recited in claim 5 , wherein the first and second oblique angles are each oriented approximately 0 to 45 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 7. The spinal implant recited in claim 5 , wherein the first and second oblique angles are each oriented approximately 15 to 30 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 8. The spinal implant recited in claim 5 , wherein the at least one screw hole further defines a third screw hole and a fourth screw hole, the third and fourth screw holes each being positioned between the first screw hole and the second screw hole. 9. The spinal implant recited in claim 8 , wherein the third and fourth screw holes each extend at an oblique angle relative to the lateral axis. 10. The spinal implant recited in claim 8 , wherein the third screw hole is in communication with the first screw hole and the fourth screw hole is in communication with the second screw hole. 11. The spinal implant recited in claim 1 , wherein the implant body has a thickness measured between the first vertebral engaging surface and the second vertebral engaging surface, the thickness being equivalent over an entire length and an entire width of the implant body. 12. The spinal implant recited in claim 1 , wherein the at least one screw hole defines a first screw hole and a second screw hole, the second screw hole being spaced apart from the first screw hole, the plate comprising first and second apertures, the apertures each being aligned with one of the screw holes to allow bone screws to each be inserted simultaneously through one of the apertures and one of the screw holes. 13. A spinal implant system comprising: the spinal implant recited in claim 12 ; a first bone screw extending through the first screw hole and the first aperture; and a second bone screw extending through the second screw hole and the second aperture. 14. The spinal implant system recited in claim 13 , wherein the first bone screw extends through the opening, the second bone screw being spaced apart from the opening. 15. A spinal implant system comprising: a monolithic implant body extending along a transverse axis between an anterior surface and a posterior surface, the anterior surface and the posterior surface each extending from a first vertebral engaging surface to an opposite second vertebral engaging surface, the second vertebral engaging surface being fixed relative to the first vertebral engaging surface, the implant body including an opening extending through the vertebral engaging surfaces, the implant body defining a longitudinal axis extending perpendicular to the transverse axis, the implant body further including an oblique surface extending oblique to the axes, the oblique surface having a first end connected to the anterior surface and a second end connected to the posterior surface, the anterior surface being continuously curved from the first end to the posterior surface, the posterior surface being continuously curved from the second end to the anterior surface, the oblique surface defining first and second screw holes each extending oblique to the longitudinal axis through at least one of the vertebral engaging surfaces; a first bone screw; a second bone screw; and a plate removably coupled to the oblique surface, the plate comprising spaced apart first and second apertures, the first aperture being aligned with the first screw hole such that the first bone screw extends through the first aperture and the first screw hole, the second aperture being aligned with the second screw hole such that the second bone screw extends through the second aperture and the second screw hole, wherein, in use, the oblique surface extends oblique to a lateral axis of a patient body, the lateral axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axis, and wherein implant body has a thickness measured between the first vertebral engaging surface and the second vertebral engaging surface, the thickness being equivalent over an entire length and an entire width of the implant body. 16. The spinal implant system recited in claim 15 , wherein: the first screw hole extends at an oblique angle relative to the lateral axis; and the oblique angle is oriented approximately 0 to 45 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 17. The spinal implant system recited in claim 15 , wherein: the second screw hole is spaced apart from the first screw hole, the first screw hole extending at a first oblique angle relative to the lateral axis, the second screw hole extending at a second oblique angle relative to the lateral axis; and the first and second oblique angles are each oriented approximately 0 to 45 degrees relative to the lateral axis. 18.
