A drive unit includes a drive wheel, a prime mover, a coupling mechanism and a support frame. The coupling mechanism includes first and second coupling members. The first coupling member includes a first opposed surface. The second coupling member includes a second opposed surface opposed to the first opposed surface. The second coupling member is attached to the first coupling member in a detachable manner. The support frame is attached to the coupling mechanism. The support frame supports the drive wheel and the prime mover. The first coupling member includes a first vertical groove and a first transverse groove on the first opposed surface. The second coupling member includes a second vertical groove and a second transverse groove on the second opposed surface. The second vertical groove is opposed to the first vertical groove. The second transverse groove is opposed to the first transverse groove.

What is claimed is: 1. A drive unit configured to be attached to a hand pallet jack or truck, the drive unit comprising: a drive wheel; a prime mover configured to drive the drive wheel; a coupling mechanism including a first coupling member and a second coupling member, the first coupling member including a first opposed surface, the second coupling member including a second opposed surface opposed to the first opposed surface, the second coupling member attached to the first coupling member in a detachable manner; and a support frame attached to the coupling mechanism, the support frame configured to support the drive wheel and the prime mover, the first coupling member including a first vertical groove and a first transverse groove on the first opposed surface, and the second coupling member including a second vertical groove and a second transverse groove on the second opposed surface, the second vertical groove opposed to the first vertical groove, the second transverse groove opposed to the first transverse groove. 2. The drive unit according to claim 1 , further comprising: a fastening member configured to fasten the first coupling member and the second coupling member to each other. 3. The drive unit according to claim 1 , wherein the first coupling member includes a first interlocking portion, and the second coupling member includes a second interlocking portion configured to interlock with the first interlocking portion. 4. The drive unit according to claim 1 , further comprising: a hinge mechanism configured to couple the first coupling member and the second coupling member to each other. 5. The drive unit according to claim 1 , wherein the support frame is attached to the coupling mechanism in a pivotable manner.
