Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A Data Delivery Service (DDS) is described, which is a service in a multi-tenant environment that transmits satellite data between a satellite antenna and a user instance. The DDS transports the antenna data to a different region, which allows a user to reuse their infrastructure for multiple antenna sites, thereby, reducing their infrastructure footprint and costs. Gateway instances can be launched at scheduled times in different regions and a secure communication channel can be established between the gateway instances to establish inter-region communication.

First claim

Opening claim text (preview).

What is claimed is: 1. A method of scheduling a communication channel between a user instance and an antenna, comprising: receiving availability data in a first data center associated with time slots for communicating with antennas associated with a second data center; transmitting configuration parameters and dataflow endpoints from the first data center to the second data center, the configuration parameters and dataflow endpoints for communicating with a selected one of the antennas; receiving, from the second data center, a reservation confirmation complying with the configuration parameters and dataflow endpoints and confirming the selected antenna; and provisioning first and second server computers in the first and second data centers, respectively, to establish a communication channel there between in accordance with the reservation confirmation. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the provisioning includes launching of gateway instances on the first and second server computers that establish secure communications between the first and second data centers. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the gateway instances are launched at a predetermined period of time before a start of a reservation associated with the reservation confirmation and are terminated at an end of the reservation confirmation. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the availability data is associated with multiple candidate antennas that are available, and the availability of a user instance to receive data from the antenna and wherein the configuration parameters and dataflow endpoints are for selecting one of the candidate antennas. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein a directional graph is shared between the first and second data centers in order to reserve multiple time slots of the antennas. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the provisioning of the server computers includes launching of instances on the server computers including determining a first pool of available instances in the first data center, determining a second pool of available instances in the second data center, and selecting at least one instance from each of the first and second pools. 7. The method of claim 1 , further including establishing communication channels between a user instance, the first server computer in the first data center, the second server computer in the second data center, and an antenna. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters include a transmission frequency and further including determining whether the transmission frequency of the antenna matches a requested frequency associated with the user instance. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antennas communicate with satellites to allow user instances to communicate through the antennas with the satellites.
