Official abstract text for this publication.
Aspects of the disclosure provide for a thin control channel structure that can be utilized for a variety of purposes including, for example, enabling the multiplexing of two or more data transmission formats. In another example, the thin control channel can be utilized to carry control information that relates to interference experienced by a user. By utilizing this control information on a thin control channel, the network can take suitable action to mitigate the interference. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of wireless communication operable at a wireless network node, comprising: communicating with a first wireless device utilizing scheduled resources comprising a first transmission time interval (TTI) on a data channel; receiving information on a first control channel transmitted from the first wireless device during the first TTI, which comprises interference information associated with interference experienced by the first wireless device; and responsive to the information, suspending the communicating with the first wireless device during the first TTI, transmitting a grant on a second control channel for at least one other wireless device, and communicating with the at least one other wireless device utilizing at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI for the first wireless device. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information received on the first control channel utilizes a second TTI, shorter in duration than the first TTI and configured to overlap a portion of the first TTI. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first control channel is separated in frequency from the data channel. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interference information comprises at least one of a channel quality indicator (CQI), persistency information relating to the interference, a frequency of the interference, a power of the interference, or spatial information corresponding to the interference. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interference information comprises at least one of: an indication of a rank feasible for the communicating utilizing the scheduled resources, an indication that an amount of interference experienced by the first wireless device increased by at least a predetermined amount, or persistency information comprising a packet duration or a counter corresponding to the packet duration. 6. A method of wireless communication operable at a wireless device, comprising: communicating with a wireless network node utilizing scheduled resources comprising a first transmission time interval (TTI) on a data channel; detecting interference that interferes with the communicating with the wireless network node; transmitting information relating to the interference on a first control channel during the first TTI via a second TTI, shorter in duration than the first TTI; receiving a grant on a second control channel in response to the transmitting of the information relating to the interference, the grant indicating a reassignment of at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI; and suspending the communicating with the wireless network node over the at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI. 7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the information comprises at least one of a channel quality indicator (CQI), persistency information relating to the interference, a frequency of the interference, a power of the interference, or spatial information corresponding to the interference. 8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: buffering downlink packets received during the first TTI, the downlink packets comprising downlink data and downlink control information, wherein the downlink control information includes the grant; after a buffer time, processing the buffered downlink data and the downlink control information, wherein the processing comprises: processing the grant; and in response to determining that the grant indicates the reassignment of the scheduled resources, forgoing the processing of at least a portion of the downlink data, the portion corresponding to the reassignment. 9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the interference information comprises at least one of: an indication of a rank feasible for the communicating utilizing the scheduled resources, an indication that an amount of interference experienced by the wireless device increased by at least a predetermined amount, or persistency information comprising a packet duration or a counter corresponding to the packet duration. 10. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: at least one processor; a computer-readable medium communicatively coupled to the at least one processor; and a transceiver communicatively coupled to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to: utilize the transceiver to communicate with a first wireless device utilizing scheduled resources comprising a first transmission time interval (TTI) on a data channel; utilize the transceiver to receive information on a first control channel transmitted from the first wireless device during the first TTI, which comprises interference information associated with interference experienced by the first wireless device; and responsive to the information, suspending the communicating with the first wireless device during the first TTI, transmitting a grant on a second control channel for at least one other wireless device, and communicating with the at least one other wireless device utilizing at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI for the first wireless device. 11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the information received on the first control channel utilizes a second TTI, shorter in duration than the first TTI and configured to overlap a portion of the first TTI. 12. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the first control channel is separated in frequency from the data channel. 13. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the interference information comprises at least one of a channel quality indicator (CQI), persistency information relating to the interference, a frequency of the interference, a power of the interference, or spatial information corresponding to the interference. 14. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the interference information comprises at least one of: an indication of a rank feasible for the communicating utilizing the scheduled resources, an indication that an amount of interference experienced by the first wireless device increased by at least a predetermined amount, or persistency information comprising a packet duration or a counter corresponding to the packet duration. 15. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: at least one processor; a computer-readable medium communicatively coupled to the at least one processor; and a transceiver communicatively coupled to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to: utilize the transceiver to communicate with a wireless network node utilizing scheduled resources comprising a first transmission time interval (TTI) on a data channel; detect interference that interferes with the communicating with the wireless network node; utilize the transceiver to transmit information relating to the interference on a first control channel during the first TTI via a second TTI, shorter in duration than the first TTI; utilize the transceiver to receive a grant on a second control channel in response to the transmitting of the information relating to the interference, the grant indicating a reassignment of at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI; and suspend the communicating with the wireless network node over the at least a portion of the scheduled resources within the first TTI. 16. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the information comprises at least one of a channel quality indicator (CQI), persistency information relating to the interference, a frequency of the interference, a power of the interference, or spatial information corresponding to the interfere
