An individual chain wheel for a bicycle front crank arrangement for engaging in a drive chain includes a plurality of teeth formed on a circumference of the chain wheel and having a first and a second group of teeth. The teeth of the second group of teeth are arranged in an alternating manner between the teeth of the first group of teeth. Each tooth has a load flank via which force is transmitted between an adjacent roller of the drive chain and the respective tooth. Each tooth of the first group may also have at least one profile with an opening in the vicinity of the flank, in which a portion of an inner link plate of the drive chain, which portion protrudes beyond the roller, engages.

The invention claimed is: 1. A single chain wheel for a bicycle front crank arrangement for engaging in a roller drive chain, comprising: a plurality of teeth formed on a circumference of the chain wheel and having a first and a second group of teeth, wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth are arranged in an alternating manner between the teeth of the first group of teeth, the teeth of the first group of teeth comprise a portion of greater material thickness than the teeth of the second group of teeth in a direction transverse with respect to a circumferential direction of said chain wheel, wherein each tooth has a load flank, via which force is transmitted between an adjacent chain roller of the drive chain and the respective tooth, and wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth in the radial direction of the individual chain wheel are formed with a lower height than the teeth of the first group of teeth, wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth have a height in the range from about 85% up to 90% of the height of the teeth of the first group of teeth. 2. The single chain wheel according to claim 1 , wherein each tooth of the first group of teeth and/or each tooth of the second group of teeth is provided with a tapered tooth crest. 3. The single chain wheel according to claim 1 , wherein the teeth of the first group of teeth have a cross section in the shape of a plus sign or cross, as viewed from above. 4. The single chain wheel according to claim 1 , wherein each tooth of the first group has at least a profiling with an opening in the vicinity of the flank, in which a portion of an inner link plate of the drive chain, standing beyond the chain roller, engage. 5. The single chain wheel according to claim 4 , wherein the load flank and the profiling of at least one tooth of the first group of teeth are geometrically designed and arranged with respect to each other in such a manner that, even in the event of wear-involving stressing of the load flank as a consequence of the transmission of force via the chain pulleys during operation of the individual chain wheel, an unobstructed disengagement of the respective chain pulley adjacent to the load flank and of the tooth is ensured. 6. The single chain wheel according to claim 5 , wherein the load flank has a recess. 7. The single chain wheel according to claim 5 , wherein the load flank of each tooth of the first group of teeth has a beveled portion. 8. A bicycle drive arrangement, comprising: a single chain wheel for a bicycle front crank arrangement for engaging in a roller drive chain, the single chain wheel including: a plurality of teeth formed on a circumference of the chain wheel and having a first and a second group of teeth, wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth are arranged in an alternating manner between the teeth of the first group of teeth, the teeth of the first group of teeth comprise a portion of greater material thickness than the teeth of the second group of teeth in a direction transverse with respect to a circumferential direction of said chain wheel, wherein each tooth has a load flank, via which force is transmitted between an adjacent chain roller of the drive chain and the respective tooth; and a crank arm attached to the single chain wheel, wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth in the radial direction of the individual chain wheel are formed with a lower height than the teeth of the first group of teeth, and wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth have a height in the range from about 85% up to 90% of the height of the teeth of the first group of teeth. 9. The bicycle drive arrangement of claim 8 , further comprising the roller drive chain. 10. The bicycle drive arrangement of claim 9 , further comprising a plurality of rear sprockets operable to be driven by the roller drive chain. 11. A bicycle drive arrangement, comprising: a single chain wheel including a plurality of teeth formed on a circumference of the chain wheel, the chain wheel having a first and a second group of teeth with the teeth of the second group of teeth arranged in an alternating manner between the teeth of the first group of teeth, the teeth of the first group of teeth including a portion of greater material thickness than the teeth of the second group of teeth, wherein the teeth of the second group of teeth are formed in the radial direction of the individual chain wheel with a height greater than 85% of a height of the first group of teeth and less than 90% of the height of the first group of teeth. 12. The bicycle drive arrangement according to claim 11 , wherein each tooth of the plurality of teeth has a load flank, via which force is transmitted between an adjacent chain roller of the drive chain and the respective tooth, the load flank of the first group of teeth including a recess. 13. The single chain wheel according to claim 12 , wherein the load flank of each tooth of the first group of teeth has a beveled portion. 14. The single chain wheel according to claim 11 , wherein each tooth of the first group of teeth is provided with a tapered tooth crest. 15. The single chain wheel according to claim 11 , wherein the teeth of the first group of teeth have a cross section in the shape of a plus sign or cross, as viewed from above. 16. The single chain wheel according to claim 11 , wherein each tooth of the first group has at least a profiling with an opening in the vicinity of the flank. 17. The single chain wheel according to claim 16 , wherein, the opening is configured such that a portion of an inner link plate of a drive chain, the portion standing beyond the chain roller.
