What is claimed is: 1. A sugarcane harvester comprising: a frame; a knockdown roller; an actuator having a first portion coupled to the frame and a second portion coupled to the knockdown roller, the actuator extending along a first axis; and a telescopic roller support extending along a second axis, the telescopic roller support including a first telescopic member and a second telescopic member, the first telescopic member includes a sleeve mounted to the frame and the second telescopic member includes a support arm, the support arm is mounted to the knockdown roller, the support arm being received by the sleeve in telescopic relation thereto in which a portion of the support arm is positioned within the sleeve, such that movement of the second telescopic member with respect to the first telescopic member via the actuator is configured to cause linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame, wherein a length of the portion of the support arm positioned within the sleeve is variable in response to linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame, and wherein the first axis is substantially parallel to the second axis. 2. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , wherein the roller support comprises a shim positioned between the sleeve and the support arm. 3. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , wherein the sleeve comprises a first aperture and a second aperture, and the support arm is positioned within the first aperture and the second aperture. 4. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , further comprising a pivot arm coupled pivotally to the frame, wherein the sleeve is fixed to the pivot arm. 5. The sugarcane harvester of claim 4 , wherein the pivot arm comprises a first hand and a second hand, and the sleeve is positioned between and held by the first hand and the second hand. 6. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , wherein the knockdown roller includes a first portion and a second portion, the telescopic roller support being mounted to the knockdown roller between the first portion of the knockdown roller and the second portion of the knockdown roller. 7. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , further comprising a pivot arm coupled pivotally to the frame, wherein the telescopic roller support is mounted to the pivot arm, and wherein the knockdown roller is mounted to an end portion of the second telescopic member. 8. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , wherein the telescopic roller support is a single telescopic roller support and wherein the actuator is a single actuator, and wherein the telescopic roller support defines a length extending in an elongate direction, such that movement of the support arm within the sleeve changes the length of the telescopic roller support. 9. The sugarcane harvester of claim 1 , further comprising a basecutter, wherein the telescopic roller support is configured to telescope to cause linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the basecutter. 10. A sugarcane harvester comprising: a frame; a knockdown roller; a single actuator having a first portion coupled to the frame and a second portion coupled to the knockdown roller; and a single roller support including a sleeve mounted to the frame and a support arm mounted to the knockdown roller and a portion of the support arm is received by the sleeve such that movement of the support arm within the sleeve via the actuator is configured to cause linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame, wherein the roller support defines a length extending in an elongate direction, such that movement of the support arm within the sleeve changes the length of the roller support, and wherein a length of the portion of the support arm positioned within the sleeve is variable in response to linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame. 11. The sugarcane harvester of claim 10 , wherein the actuator extends along a first axis, the roller support extends along a second axis in the elongate direction, the first axis being substantially parallel to the second axis. 12. The sugarcane harvester of claim 11 , further comprising a pivot arm coupled pivotally to the frame, wherein the sleeve is fixed to the pivot arm, and wherein the pivot arm comprises a first hand and a second hand, and the sleeve is positioned between and held by the first hand and the second hand. 13. The sugarcane harvester of claim 10 , wherein the knockdown roller includes a first portion and a second portion, the roller support being mounted to the knockdown roller between the first portion of the knockdown roller and the second portion of the knockdown roller. 14. The sugarcane harvester of claim 10 , comprising a pivot arm coupled pivotally to the frame, wherein the roller support is mounted to the pivot arm, and wherein the knockdown roller is mounted to an end portion of the support arm. 15. The sugarcane harvester of claim 10 , further comprising a basecutter, wherein the roller support is configured to telescope to cause linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the basecutter. 16. A sugarcane harvester comprising: a frame; a knockdown roller; an actuator having a first portion coupled to the frame and a second portion coupled to the knockdown roller, the actuator extending along a first axis; and a roller support including a sleeve mounted to the frame and a support arm mounted to the knockdown roller, the support arm being received within the sleeve such that movement of the support arm with respect to the sleeve via the actuator is configured to cause linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame, the roller support extending along a second axis, wherein a portion of the support arm is positioned within the sleeve, wherein a length of the portion of the support arm positioned within the sleeve is variable in response to linear movement of the knockdown roller relative to the frame, and wherein the first axis is substantially parallel to the second axis. 17. The sugarcane harvester of claim 16 , further comprising a pivot arm coupled pivotally to the frame, wherein the sleeve is fixed to the pivot arm, and wherein the knockdown roller includes a first portion and a second portion, the roller support being mounted to the knockdown roller between the first portion of the knockdown roller and the second portion of the knockdown roller. 18. The sugarcane harvester of claim 16 , wherein the roller support is a single telescopic roller support and wherein the actuator is a single actuator, and wherein the telescopic roller support defines a length extending in an elongate direction, such that movement of the support arm within the sleeve changes the length of the telescopic roller support.
