Abstract

In order to achieve designation of a talk room of a chat service to share image data generated by scanning in an image processing apparatus, the image processing apparatus that communicates with a chat server, based on received information indicating a talk room of the chat server, the chat server controlling displaying of information indicating received image data on the talk room, includes a scanning unit configured to scan an image of an original document and generate image data based on the image, a designation unit configured to designate a talk room of the chat server, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data generated by the scanning unit and information indicating the talk room designated by the designation unit to the chat server.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1. An image processing apparatus comprising:
a scanning unit configured to scan an image of a document sheet and generate image data based on the image;
a receiving unit configured to receive selection, by a user, of a channel of chat service provided by a chat server from a plurality of channels of the chat service; and
a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data generated by the scanning unit to the chat server so that the chat server posts the image data to the selected channel.

2. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a communication unit configured to receive group information from the chat server; and
a display unit configured to display information indicating a channel corresponding to the group information received by the communication unit;
wherein the receiving unit receives selection, by the user, of the information indicating the channel displayed by the display unit.

3. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the display unit is configured to display predetermined screen on which the information indicating the selected channel is set as a destination.

4. The image processing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the scanning unit scans the image of the document sheet to generate the image data based on an execution instruction input by the user while the predetermined screen is displayed by the display unit.

5. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 ,
wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit information corresponding to an application installed in the chat server to the chat server, and
wherein the communication unit is configured to receive the group information stored in correspondence with the application from the chat server.

6. The image processing apparatus according to claim 5 , further comprising:
a storage unit configured to store user-identification information and information corresponding to the application in correspondence with each other,
wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit the information corresponding to the application in correspondence with the user-identification information of a user who has logged in to the image processing apparatus.

The image processing apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit, based on generating the image data by the scanning unit, the generated image data, information indicating the channel, and the information corresponding to the application to the chat server.

The image processing apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit, based on generating the image data by the scanning unit, the image data, information indicating the channel, the information corresponding to the application, and information indicating a comment to the chat server.

9. The image processing apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the information corresponding to the application is token information stored in the image processing apparatus in correspondence with the application.

The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the receiving unit is configured to receive selection, by the user, of the channel of the chat service from a plurality of channels of the chat service and receives, by the user, selection of a user to be mentioned from among users included in the selected channel.

11. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit, based on generating by the scanning unit the image data, the image data so that the chat server posts the image data to the selected channel.

12. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a setting unit configured to set information to communicate with the chat server,
wherein the transmission unit is configured to transmit, by using the information to communicate with the chat server the image data to the chat server so that the chat server posts the image data to the selected channel.

13. The image processing apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the information to communicate with the chat server is a uniform resource locator (URL).

14. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the channel of the chat service is a chat room.

15. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a printing unit configured to print an image on a sheet.

16. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein, in response to receiving a predetermined execution instruction, the scanning unit scans the image of the document sheet and generate image data and then the transmission unit transmits the image data generated by the scanning unit to the chat server.

17. The image processing apparatus according to claim 16 , wherein the predetermined execution instruction is selection of a predetermined object.

18. An image processing method comprising:
scanning an image of a document sheet and generating image data based on the image;
receiving selection, by a user, of a channel of chat service provided by the chat server from a plurality of channels of the chat service; and
transmitting the image data generated by the scanning to the chat server so that the chat server posts the image data to the selected channels.

19. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program that, when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform an image processing method, the method comprising:
scanning an image of a document sheet and generating image data based on the image;
receiving selection, by a user, of a channel of chat service provided by the chat server from a plurality of channels of the chat service; and
transmitting the image data generated by the scanning so that the chat server posts the image data to the selected channel.

20. An image processing apparatus comprising:
a scanning unit configured to scan an image of a document sheet and generate image data based on the image;
a receiving unit configured to receive selection, by a user, of a channel of chat service provided by a chat server from a plurality of channels of the chat service; and
a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data generated by the scanning unit and information of the selected channel,
wherein, using the information of the selected channel, the transmitted image data is posted by the chat server to the selected channel.

21. The image processing apparatus according to claim 20 ,
wherein, based on the transmission of the image data and the information of the selected channel, the transmitted image data is posted by the chat server to the selected channel.

22. The image processing apparatus according to claim 20 , further comprising:
a communication unit configured to receive group information from the chat server; and
a display unit configured to display information of channel corresponding to the group information received by the communication unit,
wherein the receiving unit receives selection, by the user, of the information of the channel displayed by the display unit.

23. The image processing apparatus according to claim 22 , wherein the display unit is configured to display a predetermined screen on which the information of the selected channel is set as a destination.
