An infusion pump includes a display, at least one data processor, and at least one memory including a computer program code. The infusion pump render a scannable tag on the display of the infusion pump. The scannable tag is readable by an information reader and provides medical device information uniquely identifying the infusion pump after being scanned by the information reader. The infusion pump further receives medication information about medication to be administered to a patient by the infusion pump. The medication information includes at least one of an infusion parameter of the medication, a medication name, or a medication order identifier. The infusion pump receives the medication information after the information reader scans a medication barcode on the medication to be administered to the patient.

The invention claimed is: 1. An infusion pump for medication infusion within a medical environment, the infusion pump comprising: a display; at least one data processor; and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to: render a scannable tag on the display of the infusion pump, wherein the scannable tag is configured to be readable by an information reader and is configured to provide medical device information uniquely identifying the infusion pump after being scanned by the information reader; and receive medication information about medication to be administered to a patient by the infusion pump, the medication information including at least one of an infusion parameter of the medication, a medication name, or a medication order identifier, wherein the infusion pump is configured to receive the medication information after the information reader scans a medication barcode on the medication to be administered to the patient. 2. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the infusion pump is configured to communicatively couple with the information reader. 3. The infusion pump of claim 2 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to associate with the information reader after the infusion pump is communicatively coupled with the information reader. 4. The infusion pump of claim 2 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to associate with the information reader before the infusion pump is communicatively coupled with the information reader. 5. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to receive patient information identifying a patient after the information reader scans a patient identifier. 6. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to receive clinical information identifying a clinician after the information reader scans a clinical identifier. 7. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to: store the medication information in the at least one memory of the infusion pump; and render, on the display, at least a portion of the medication information. 8. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the scannable tag further comprises routing information defining parameters for routing the medication information to the infusion pump. 9. The infusion pump of claim 8 , wherein the routing information comprises at least one of: connectivity parameters of the infusion pump or authentication information of the infusion pump. 10. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the scannable tag further comprises disassociation information defining one or more parameters for disassociating the infusion pump and the information reader, and wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to disassociate from the information reader after at least one parameter of the one or more parameters is satisfied. 11. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the medical device information uniquely identifying the infusion pump comprises at least one of: a model number of the infusion pump, a serial number of the infusion pump, a media access control address of the infusion pump, or an internet protocol address of the infusion pump. 12. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the scannable tag comprises a barcode. 13. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to: connect to a communication network; receive, from a server connected to the communication network and after scanning of the scannable tag, a request for communicative coupling with the infusion pump; and render, on the display, a dialog to acknowledge the request. 14. The infusion pump of claim 13 , further comprising a wireless module, and wherein causing the infusion pump to connect to the communication network comprises communicating, via the wireless module, with a wireless network. 15. The infusion pump of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion pump to administer a parenteral infusion of at least 100 mL of fluid from a container. 16. An infusion system for medication infusion within a medical environment, the infusion system comprising: a display; at least one data processor; and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion system to: render a scannable tag on the display of the infusion system, wherein the scannable tag is configured to be readable by an information reader and is configured to provide medical device information uniquely identifying the infusion system after being scanned by the information reader; communicatively couple with the information reader; and receive medication information about medication to be administered to a patient by the infusion system, the medication information including at least one of an infusion parameter of the medication, a medication name, or a medication order identifier. 17. The infusion system of claim 16 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion system to receive the medication information after the infusion system is communicatively coupled with the information reader. 18. The infusion system of claim 16 , wherein the medication information is obtained by the information reader before communicatively coupling with the infusion system. 19. The infusion system of claim 16 , wherein the medical device information uniquely identifying the infusion system comprises at least one of: a model number of the infusion system, a serial number of the infusion system, a media access control address of the infusion system, or an internet protocol address of the infusion system. 20. The infusion system of claim 16 , wherein the scannable tag comprises a barcode. 21. The infusion system of claim 16 , wherein the scannable tag further comprises routing information defining parameters for routing the medication information to the infusion system, and wherein the infusion system is configured to receive the medication information after the information reader scans a medication barcode on the medication to be administered to the patient. 22. The infusion system of claim 21 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one data processor, cause the infusion system to transmit the routing information to a router within a medical environment. 23.
