What is claimed is: 1. An exterior sheathing panel with an exterior facing surface and comprising a gypsum core, the gypsum core being overlaid with a fibrous mat, the fibrous mat being overlaid on the exterior facing surface with an integrated air and water barrier membrane, wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane reduces water penetration through the exterior sheathing panel and wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane is water vapor permeable, and wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane comprises: (a) polyacrylate, acrylic styrene co-polymer, styrene-butadiene co-polymer or any combination thereof; (b) dispersant; (c) defoamer; (d) pigment; (e) calcium carbonate; (f) thickener; (g) wetting and leveling agent; and (h) cross-linker; and wherein the air and water barrier membrane comprises ingredients (a) through (h) in the following amounts: 30 to 70 wt % the polyacrylate, the acrylic styrene co-polymer, the styrene-butadiene co-polymer or any combination thereof; 0.1 to 5 wt % the dispersant; 0.1 to 5 wt % the defoamer; 0.1 to 10 wt % the pigment; 20 to 50 wt % the calcium carbonate; 0.1 to 5 wt % the thickener; 0.1 to 5 wt % the wetting and leveling agent; and 0.1 to 5 wt % the cross-linker. 2. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the fibrous mat is woven or non-woven. 3. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 2 , wherein the fibrous mat comprises polymer fibers, glass fibers, mineral fibers or any combination thereof. 4. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane has a dried thickness in the range from 10 to 90 mils. 5. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane further comprises one or more of the following: preservative, pH adjuster, emulsion stabilizer or any combination thereof. 6. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the integrated air and water barrier membrane reduces air infiltration through the panel by at least 50%. 7. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the fibrous mat is non-woven and comprises glass fibers bound together by a polymeric binder which comprises one or more from the following: urea formaldehyde, melamine formaldehyde, stearated melamine formaldehyde, polyester, acrylics, polyvinyl acetate, urea formaldehyde or melamine formaldehyde modified or blended with polyvinyl acetate or acrylic, a styrene acrylic polymer, or any combination thereof. 8. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the wetting and leveling agent comprises one or more of the following: sulfosuccinate, polyether modified siloxane, urea modified polyurethane, and modified urea ammonium salt of an acrylate copolymer. 9. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the cross linker comprises one or more of the following: zinc oxide, zinc metal ions, stabilized ammonium zirconium carbonate containing anionic hydroxylated zirconium polymers, and epoxy functional silane. 10. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the exterior sheathing panel further comprises a sheet membrane being applied over the integrated air and water barrier membrane. 11. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the exterior sheathing panel further comprises a standoff material being embedded at least partially in the air and water barrier membrane. 12. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein one or more of the following materials are embedded in the air and water barrier membrane: mesh, pellets, beads or any combination thereof. 13. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the air and water barrier membrane comprises embedded pellets and/or beads, and wherein at least some pellets and/or beads extend partially from the surface of the air and water barrier membrane. 14. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the air and water barrier membrane further comprises one or more of the following: kaolin clay, mica, heavy spar, talc, sand, quartz flour, chalk, titanium dioxide, silica, fly ash, gypsum, or any combination thereof. 15. The exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 , wherein the air and water barrier membrane further comprises one or more of the following: polyurethane, silicone or a combination thereof. 16. An installation system comprising the exterior sheathing panel of claim 1 and at least one polyurethane-based and/or silicone-based sealant.
