A display device includes: a display panel and a back cover which supports the display panel on a rear surface of the display panel and includes a plurality of openings and a length of a lower edge of the back cover is larger than a length of an upper edge of the back cover. Therefore, when the display device is rolled, a rolling position of the display device may be guided.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A display device, comprising: a display panel; a back cover which supports the display panel on a rear surface of the display panel and includes a plurality of openings configured to provide flexibility to the back cover to be wound or unwound; and a roller unit which winds or unwinds the display panel and the back cover in a column direction and is connected to a lower side of the back cover, wherein a length of a lower edge of the back cover in a row direction is larger than a length of an upper edge of the back cover and is larger than a length of a lower edge of the display panel in the row direction, wherein a size of the back cover is larger than a size of the display panel, wherein the back cover further includes: a winding area which is wound or unwound around the roller unit; and an unwinding area which is a remaining area excluding the winding area, and wherein a width between a left edge and a right edge at an uppermost end of the winding area is smaller than a width of a left edge and a right edge at a lowermost end of the winding area. 2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein a left edge and a right edge of the back cover are inclined with respect to the lower edge of the back cover, and wherein the closer to the upper edge from the lower edge of the back cover, the smaller a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover. 3. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein a planar shape of the back cover is a trapezoidal shape. 4. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein the left edge and the right edge of the back cover are bent toward the display panel to be in contact with one surface of the back cover. 5. The display device according to claim 4 , wherein an entire thickness of each of a leftmost portion and a rightmost portion of the back cover in which the left edge and the right edge are bent is larger than a sum of a thickness of the display panel and a thickness of a center portion of the back cover. 6. The display device according to claim 2 , further comprising: a left guide unit and a right guide unit disposed at the left edge and the right edge of the back cover, respectively, wherein lower surfaces of the left guide unit and the right guide unit are disposed on the same plane as the rear surface of the back cover. 7. The display device according to claim 6 , wherein thicknesses of the left guide unit and the right guide unit are larger than a sum of the thickness of the display panel and the thickness of the back cover. 8. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein a left edge and a right edge of the back cover are disposed to be vertical to the lower edge of the back cover, and wherein a planar shape of the back cover is a step shape. 9. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover at the lower edge of the back cover is larger than a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover at the upper edge of the back cover. 10. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein the back cover includes a plurality of areas which extends from the left edge to the right edge, the plurality of areas being disposed between the upper edge and the lower edge of the back cover, and wherein, among the plurality of areas, a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover is larger in an area closer to the lower edge of the back cover than in another area farther from the lower edge of the back cover. 11. The display device according to claim 10 , wherein a length of the left edge and the right edge of the back cover in a column direction is the shortest in one of the plurality of areas closest to the lower edge of the back cover among the plurality of areas. 12. A rollable display device, comprising: a flexible display panel; a back cover which supports the flexible display panel on one surface of the flexible display panel and includes a plurality of openings configured to provide flexibility to the back cover to be wound or unwound; and a roller unit which winds or unwinds the flexible display panel and the back cover in a column direction and is connected to a lower side of the back cover, wherein the back cover includes a plurality of areas extending in a row direction, one of the plurality of areas closer to a lower edge of the back cover being wider in the row direction than another of the plurality of area closer to an upper edge of the back cover and wider in the row direction than the flexible display panel, wherein a size of the back cover is larger than a size of the flexible display panel, wherein the back cover further includes: a winding area which is wound or unwound around the roller unit; and an unwinding area which is a remaining area excluding the winding area, and wherein a width between a left edge and a right edge at an uppermost end of the winding area is smaller than a width of a left edge and a right edge at a lowermost end of the winding area. 13. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , wherein the length of a left edge and a right edge of the plurality of areas in the column direction corresponds to a length of the back cover which is wound around the roller unit one time. 14. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , wherein a left edge and a right edge of the back cover are inclined with respect to the lower edge of the back cover, and wherein a planar shape of the back cover is a trapezoidal shape. 15. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , wherein: a left edge and a right edge of the plurality of areas of the back cover are vertical to the lower edge of the back cover, a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover is different in each of the plurality of areas, and a planar shape of the back cover is a step shape. 16. The rollable display device according to claim 15 , wherein a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover closest to the lower edge of the back cover among the plurality of areas is larger than a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover in another area closest to the upper edge of the back cover among the plurality of areas. 17. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , wherein the left edge and the right edge of the back cover are bent toward the flexible display panel to be in contact with one surface of the back cover, and wherein a thickness of a leftmost portion and a rightmost portion of the back cover is greater than a combined thickness of the flexible display panel and a center portion of the back cover. 18. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , further comprising: a left guide unit and a right guide unit which are disposed to enclose the left edge and the right edge of the back cover, respectively, wherein the left guide unit and the right guide unit each have a surface aligned with another surface of the back cover opposite the one surface of the back cover, and wherein a thickness of each of the left guide unit and the right guide unit is larger than a sum of the thickness of the flexible display panel and the thickness of the back cover. 19. The rollable display device according to claim 12 , wherein in the unwinding area, a width between the left edge and the right edge of the back cover is constant.
