What is claimed is: 1. A digital signage system comprising: a first display to mount to a shelf of shelving to cover at least a portion of a front edge of the shelf; a second display to mount to the shelving, the first display and the second display configurable to display content independently and jointly; an optical sensor; a network interface; and processor circuitry to at least: cause first content to be displayed on the first display and cause second content to be displayed on the second display when the first display and the second display are to display content independently, the second content different from the first content; cause third content to be displayed jointly on the first display and the second display when the first display and the second display are to display content jointly; and report data based on an output from the optical sensor to a remote server via the network interface. 2. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the at least the portion of the shelf is a first portion of the shelf, and the second display is to cover a second portion of the front edge of the shelf. 3. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the shelf is a first shelf, and the second display is to mount to a second shelf of the shelving to cover at least a portion of a front edge of the second shelf. 4. The digital signage system of claim 1 , further including a connector to connect the first display to the front edge of the shelf. 5. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the optical sensor is implemented with a camera. 6. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the network interface is to communicate with a cellular network. 7. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the data is to be reported to the remote server for video analytics. 8. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is to cause the first display to display fourth content independently from the second display after the processor is to cause the third content to be displayed jointly on the first display and the second display. 9. The digital signage system of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is to: cause the first content to be transmitted wirelessly to the first display and cause the second content to be transmitted wirelessly to the second display when the first display and the second display are to display content independently; and cause the third content to be transmitted wirelessly to the first display and the second display when the first display and the second display are to display content jointly.
