Abstract

An attachment for use with a food processing system including a container body including a sidewall, a first end configured to be mounted to a food processing base, and a second end remote from said first end. The first end is open and the second end includes an end wall oriented transverse to the sidewall. A chamber is defined by said container body. A first agitating member is receivable at said first end and a second agitating member receivable at said second end. The second agitating member is extendable into said chamber from said second end.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1. An attachment for use with a food processing system, comprising:
a container body including a sidewall, a first end configured to be mounted to the food processing system, and a second end remote from said first end, said first end being open and said second end including an end wall oriented transverse to said sidewall, the sidewall and the end wall forming a unitary structure; wherein said container body is configured to receive food from said first end and not from said second end;
a chamber defined by said container;
a first agitating member receivable at said first end, the first agitating member including one or more blades;
a second agitating member receivable at said second end, wherein said second agitating member includes at least one of a stirrer and scraper, and is extendable into said chamber through said second end; and
a rotatable dial, operably coupled to said second agitating member, wherein said second end of said container body is sealed between said second agitating member and said rotatable dial.

2. The attachment of claim 1 , being connectable to a food processing base, wherein during operation of the food processing system, said first end of said container is in attached arrangement with said food processing base.

3. The attachment of claim 1 , wherein said second end of said container body is entirely closed.

4. The attachment of claim 1 , wherein said first agitating member is motor driven and said second agitating member is manually driven.

5. The attachment of claim 1 , wherein a first portion of said second agitating member is positioned within said chamber and a second portion of said second agitating member is disposed external to said chamber.

6. The attachment of claim 1 , wherein said second agitating member is movable within said chamber in response to said rotatable dial.

7. The attachment of claim 1 , further comprising a lock operably coupled to said second agitating member, wherein said lock restricts movement of said second agitating member in at least a first direction.

8. The attachment of claim 1 , wherein said second agitating member includes at least one portion that is rotatable relative to said second end, and at least one portion that is fixed to said second end.

9. The attachment of claim 1 comprising a third agitating member being mountable in overlapping arrangement with a portion of said first agitating member to rotatably couple said first agitating member and said third agitating member.

10. The attachment of claim 9 , wherein said first agitating member includes at least one agitating blade and said third agitating member includes a hollow interior, said at least one agitating blade being receivable within said hollow interior.

11. An attachment for use with a food processing system, comprising:
a container body including a first end, a second end remote from said first end, and a chamber, said first end being configured to be mounted to a food processing base;
a first agitating member receivable at said first end, the first agitating member including one or more blades; and
a second agitating member including a stirrer, and being positionable within said chamber through said second end, said second end of said container body is sealed; and
a lock operably coupled to said second agitating member, wherein said lock is operable to prevent movement of said second agitating member about an axis during rotation of said first agitating member.

12. The attachment of claim 11 , wherein said lock is integrally formed with said container body.

13. The attachment of claim 11 , wherein said lock is coupled to said second end of said container body.

14. The attachment of claim 11 , wherein said lock restricts rotation of said second agitating member in a first direction about said axis, said first direction being identical to a direction of rotation of said first agitating member.

15. The attachment of claim 11 , further comprising a rotatable dial, operably coupled to said second agitating member, said rotatable dial having at least one tooth engaged with said lock.

The attachment of claim 11 , further comprising a rotatable dial operably coupled to said second agitating member, said rotatable dial being movable between a first position and a second position, wherein when said rotatable dial is in said first position, rotation of said second agitating member is restricted by said lock and when said rotatable dial is in said second position, said second agitating member is movable about said axis in at least one direction.

17. An attachment for use with a food processing system, comprising:
a container body including a sidewall, a first end, a second end remote from said first end, and a chamber, said first end being open and configured to be mounted to a food processing base and said second end including an end wall oriented transverse to said sidewall, the sidewall and the end wall forming a unitary structure;
a rotatable dial located at an exterior of said container body; and
an agitating member receivable within said chamber through said second end, the agitating member including at least one of a stirrer and scraper, and being directly and operably couplable to said rotatable dial, wherein said rotatable dial is permanently affixed to said container body and said agitating member is separable from at least one of said container body and said rotatable dial, and wherein said second end of said container body is sealed between said second agitating member and said rotatable dial.

18. The attachment of claim 17 , wherein said agitating member is removably coupled to at least one of said container body and said rotatable dial via a magnetic coupling.

19. The attachment of claim 17 , wherein said agitating member is removably coupled to at least one of said container body and said rotatable dial via a spring biased detent.

20. The attachment of claim 17 , wherein said agitating member is removably coupled to at least one of said container body and said rotatable dial via a resilient spring clip.

21. An attachment for use with a food processing system, comprising:
a container body including a sidewall, a first end configured to be mounted to a food processing base, and a second end remote from said first end, said first end being open and said second end including an end wall oriented transverse to said sidewall, the sidewall and the end wall forming a unitary structure; wherein said container body is configured to receive food from said first end and not from said second end;
a chamber defined by said container;
a first agitating member receivable at said first end, the first agitating member including one or more blades; and
a second agitating member receivable through said second end, wherein said second agitating member includes a drive extending through said end wall and said second end of said container body is sealed.

22. The attachment of claim 21 , wherein said drive is a shaft.

23. The attachment of claim 21 , wherein further comprising a rotatable dial, operably coupled to said drive, said rotatable dial being located at an exterior of said container body.

24. The attachment of claim 23 , wherein the rotatable dial is at least one of rotatable about an axis and translatable along said axis relative to said container body.

25. The attachment of claim 23 , wherein said second end is closed by at least one of said rotatable dial and
