Wireless transport of multiple service versions of a transport framework. First and second information may be processed for transmission, respectively, according to first and second service versions of a transport framework. The first and second information may be encoded using a first type of error correction coding; after processing, the processed first information may include error correction coding according to the first type of error correction coding, while the processed second information may remain uncoded according to the first type of error correction coding. Control information may be generated indicating that the second information remains uncoded according to the first type of error correction coding, which may signal to receivers that the second information is processed according to the second service version of the transport framework. Packets including the processed first information, the processed second information, and the control information may be generated and transmitted in a wireless manner.

We claim: 1. A non-transitory computer readable memory medium storing program instructions for transmitting packetized audiovisual information according to multiple service versions of a transport framework in a wireless manner, wherein the program instructions are executable to: process first audiovisual information for transmission according to a first service version of a transport framework, wherein after processing according to the first service version, the processed first audiovisual information comprises error correction coding information according to a first type of error correction coding; process second audiovisual information for transmission according to a second service version of the transport framework, wherein after processing according to the second service version, the processed second audiovisual information comprises error correction coding information according to a second type of error correction coding; generating control information indicating that the second audiovisual information is coded according to the second type of error correction coding, wherein the indication that the second audiovisual information is coded according to the second type of error correction coding signals to receivers that the second audiovisual information is processed according to the second service version of the transport framework; generating a plurality of packets comprising the processed first audiovisual information, the processed second audiovisual information, and the control information; and transmitting the plurality of packets in a wireless manner. 2. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the first audiovisual information is comprised in a first set of packets; wherein the error correction coding information according to the first type of error correction coding is comprised in a second set of one or more packets; wherein the second audiovisual information is comprised in a third set of packets; wherein the error correction coding information according to the second type of error correction coding is comprised in a fourth set of one or more packets. 3. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the first audiovisual information and at least a portion of the second audiovisual information are contained together in each of one or more packets. 4. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the second service version is a later service version than the first service version. 5. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the transport framework comprises a wireless audiovisual communication standard. 6. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the transport framework comprises a standard for wireless broadcast communication with mobile devices. 7. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the first information and the second information comprise audiovisual information configured for presentation by mobile devices. 8. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 1 , wherein the second audiovisual information is targeted for use by mobile devices. 9. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 8 , wherein the first audiovisual information is targeted for use by stationary presentation devices. 10. The non-transitory computer readable memory medium of claim 8 , wherein the first audiovisual information is targeted for use by legacy mobile devices. 11. A method for transmitting packetized information according to multiple service versions of a transport framework in a wireless manner, the method comprising: processing first information for transmission according to a first service version of a transport framework, wherein after processing according to the first service version, the processed first information comprises error correction coding information according to a first type of error correction coding; processing second information for transmission according to a second service version of the transport framework, wherein after processing according to the second service version, the processed second information comprises error correction coding information according to a second type of error correction coding; generating control information indicating that the second information comprises error correction coding information according to the second type of error correction coding, wherein the indication that the second information comprises error correction coding information according to the second type of error correction coding signals to receivers that the second information is processed according to the second service version of the transport framework; generating a plurality of packets comprising the processed first information, the processed second information, and the control information; and transmitting the plurality of packets in a wireless manner. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the second service version is a later service version than the first service version. 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the transport framework comprises a digital television standard for wireless broadcast of audiovisual information with mobile devices. 14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first information and the second information comprise audiovisual information configured for presentation by mobile devices. 15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first type of error correction coding comprises serial concatenated convolutional coding (SCCC). 16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first and second service versions are different versions of an Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standard.
