What is claimed is: 1. A resealable container and cap assembly for storing product, the assembly comprising: a container and a cap, the container being configured for storing product in an interior thereof; the container having an opening that permits access to the interior of the container, the opening being bound by a lip extending upwards from the container; the cap being attached to the container by a hinge, the cap being movable about the hinge from an opened position to a closed position so as to form a resealable assembly, the cap having a base portion with an underside, the base portion comprising an outer periphery that extends over at least a portion of the container, the cap being provided with a skirt that extends downwardly therefrom and being positioned at a location on the cap that allows the skirt to enter into a closing relationship with the lip in which the skirt fits over a periphery of the lip, the skirt further comprising an inwardly facing extension, the cap further including a seal member that extends downwardly from the underside of the base portion and is positioned interior to the skirt, a first end of the seal member at the underside of the base portion of the cap being wider than a second, free end of the seal member such that the seal member tapers continuously from the wider first end to the narrower second, free end, the seal member being configured to abut the lip such that at least the second, free end of the seal member is forced against the lip when the cap is moved from the open position to the closed position so as to provide a sealing position, in addition to the closing relationship between the skirt and the lip; wherein the skirt and the lip are adapted to abut and interlock with each other when the cap is in the closed position, wherein a space is provided between the lip and the underside of the cap when the cap is in the closed position, wherein the cap further comprises a tab for facilitating opening and closing of the container and cap assembly, wherein the assembly is formed as a single piece of injection molded plastic material. 2. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the hinge has a recess that forms two elements. 3. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the container is cylindrical in shape. 4. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein, when the cap is in the closed position, the skirt is exterior to the lip. 5. A resealable container comprising: a container body, which comprises a container opening, and a container closure for the container opening, wherein the container body and the container closure are embodied as a one-piece injection-molded part comprising a hinge which movably connects the container closure to the container body, wherein the container body comprises a container wall, which forms a container space, wherein the container opening is surrounded by a rim, wherein the container closure is designed as a snap-on closure and can be moved between an open position and a closed position, wherein the container closure comprises a base at which a skirt is arranged, wherein the container closure comprises a first seal and a second seal, wherein, in the closed position, the first seal is formed between an inner side of the skirt and an outer side of the rim, wherein, in the closed position, the second seal is formed between the base and the rim, the first seal extending around the outer side of the rim and the second seal extending around an inside of the container closure, wherein the first seal is formed against the rim under pretension, due to the skirt being deformed elastically outwards in a radial direction by resting against the rim in the closed position, and in that the skirt and the base are shaped such that the second seal is pretensioned against the rim by elastic deformation of the skirt in the closed position. 6. The container of claim 5 , wherein the hinge has a recess that forms two elements. 7. The container of claim 5 , wherein the container body is cylindrical. 8. The container of claim 5 , wherein the container closure comprises a tab for facilitating opening and closing of the container closure. 9. The container of claim 5 , wherein a first end of the second seal at the base is wider than a second, free end of the second seal such that the second seal tapers continuously from the wider first end to the narrower second, free end. 10. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lip includes an outwardly facing extension. 11. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 10 , wherein the outwardly facing extension extends around a periphery of a distal end of the lip. 12. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 10 , wherein when the cap is in the closed position, the inwardly facing extension of the skirt abuts and interlocks with the outwardly facing extension of the lip. 13. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the inwardly facing extension of the skirt extends around a periphery of a distal end of the skit. 14. The resealable container and cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the skirt fits over an outer periphery of the lip such that the skirt surrounds an entire periphery of the lip.
