Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A first series of images of a first fluid is received. A first set of fluid characteristics of the first fluid is determined from the first series of images. A second series of images of a second fluid is received. A second set of fluid characteristics of the second fluid is determined from the second series of images. A match is determined to be found between the first set of fluid characteristics and the second set of fluid characteristics. The second fluid is identified based upon determining that the first set of fluid characteristics matches the second set of fluid characteristics.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for verifying an authenticity of a fluid, comprising: receiving a first image of a first fluid; determining a first fluid characteristic of the first fluid from the first image, wherein the first fluid characteristic comprises a color space characteristic of the first fluid; receiving a second image of a second fluid; determining a second fluid characteristic of the second fluid from the second image wherein the second fluid characteristic of the second fluid comprises a color space characteristic of the second fluid; and identifying the second fluid responsive to determining that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: training a machine learning classifier based upon the first fluid characteristic. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein determining that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic is based on the second fluid characteristic being processed by the machine learning classifier. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic includes determining that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic within a predetermined threshold value. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the color space characteristic of the first fluid and the second fluid include at least one of a hue distribution and a saturation distribution of the first fluid and the second fluid. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first fluid characteristic of the first fluid further includes a viscosity of the first fluid and the second fluid characteristic of the second fluid further includes a viscosity of the second fluid. 7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: determining the viscosity of the first fluid based upon a Brownian motion pattern detected from the first image; and determining the viscosity of the second fluid based upon a Brownian motion pattern detected from the second image. 8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising: matching, as a part of determining that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic, the viscosity of the first fluid to the viscosity of the second fluid. 9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the first fluid characteristic further includes at least one of a density of particles in the first fluid and a size distribution of particles in the first fluid. 10. The method of claim 7 , wherein the first fluid characteristic further includes a magnetic response of the first fluid, wherein the first image is a member of a series of images, the series of images comprising an image obtained before application of a magnetic force to the first fluid and another image obtained after application of the magnetic force to the first fluid. 11. A computer usable program product comprising one or more computer-readable storage media, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more storage media, the stored program instructions comprising: program instructions to receive a first image of a first fluid; program instructions to determine a first fluid characteristic of the first fluid from the first image, wherein the first fluid characteristic comprises a color space characteristic of the first fluid; program instructions to receive a second image of a second fluid; program instructions to determine a second fluid characteristic of the second fluid from the second image, wherein the second fluid characteristic of the second fluid comprises a color space characteristic of the second fluid; and program instructions to identify the second fluid responsive to program instructions to determine that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic. 12. The computer usable program product of claim 11 , further comprising: program instructions to train a machine learning classifier based upon the first fluid characteristic. 13. The computer usable program product of claim 12 , wherein the program instructions to determine that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic is based on the second fluid characteristic being processed by the machine learning classifier. 14. The computer usable program product of claim 11 , wherein the program instructions to determine that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic includes program instructions to determine that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic within a predetermined threshold value. 15. The computer usable program product of claim 11 , wherein the color space characteristic of the first fluid and the second fluid include at least one of a hue distribution and a saturation distribution of the first fluid and the second fluid. 16. The computer usable program product of claim 11 , wherein the first fluid characteristic of the first fluid further includes a viscosity of the first fluid and the second fluid characteristic of the second fluid further includes a viscosity of the second fluid. 17. The computer usable program product of claim 16 , further comprising: program instructions to determine the viscosity of the first fluid based upon a Brownian motion pattern detected from the first image; and program instructions to determine the viscosity of the second fluid based upon a Brownian motion pattern detected from the second image. 18. A computer system comprising one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories, and one or more computer-readable storage devices, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, the stored program instructions comprising: program instructions to receive a first image of a first fluid; program instructions to determine a first fluid characteristic of the first fluid from the first image, wherein the first fluid characteristic comprises a color space characteristic of the first fluid; program instructions to receive a second image of a second fluid; program instructions to determine a second fluid characteristic of the second fluid from the second image, wherein the second fluid characteristic of the second fluid comprises a color space characteristic of the second fluid; and program instructions to identify the second fluid responsive to program instructions to determine that the first fluid characteristic matches the second fluid characteristic.
