Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A system for initiating and authorizing a transaction including one or more memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to associate a detectable device with at least one financial account. The one or more processors may be further configured to receive a notification indicating that the detectable device is involved in a potential transaction initiated by a sensor device detecting the detectable device in an initiating action. The one or more processors may be further configured to receive transaction information associated with the potential transaction. The one or more processors may be further configured to identify a customer profile associated with the detectable device, and determine whether the potential transaction is authorized by a customer based on the transaction information and at least one profile customization parameter associated with the customer profile.

What is claimed is: 1. A profile management device for processing and authorizing a transaction, comprising: one or more memory devices storing instructions; and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to: receive information associated with a customer profile associated with a customer; receive information about a potential transaction from at least one of a wearable device or a merchant device; process the potential transaction by determining whether the potential transaction is authorized based on the received customer profile information and received potential transaction information; transmit the processed potential transaction result to a financial service provider system; and notify the wearable device and merchant device of the processed potential transaction authorization result. 2. The profile management device of claim 1 , wherein the customer profile includes information indicating that at least one of: potential transactions associated with a particular merchant are authorized, potential transactions over a certain amount require additional authorization from a financial service provider, or potential transactions over a certain amount require additional authorization from the customer. 3. The profile management device of claim 2 , wherein the customer profile further associates received potential transaction information with the customer and includes that information in the customer profile. 4. The profile management device of claim 3 , wherein: the customer profile information comprises historical information associated with a user; and determining whether the potential transaction is authorized further comprises comparing the potential transaction information with the historical information. 5. The profile management device of claim 1 , wherein the received information includes biometric data collected through a biometric reader associated with the wearable device. 6. The profile management device of claim 5 , wherein: the customer profile information comprises customer profile biometric data; and determining whether the potential transaction is authorized comprises comparing the received biometric data with the customer profile biometric data. 7. The profile management device of claim 1 , wherein information about a potential transaction further includes information associated with at least one of the wearable device or the merchant device. 8. The profile management device of claim 7 , wherein determining whether the transaction is authorized based on the received customer profile information and received potential transaction information, further includes the information associated with at least one of the wearable device or the merchant device. 9. The profile management device of claim 1 , wherein determining whether the transaction is authorized further requires an authorization confirmation by the customer. 10. The profile management device of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors is further configured to execute the instructions to receive information associated with a venue profile associated with a venue. 11. The profile management device of claim 10 , wherein the venue profile includes information indicating venue rules for determining whether a potential transaction is authorized by the venue. 12. A profile management system for processing and authorizing a transaction, comprising: one or more memory devices storing instructions; and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to: receive information associated with a customer profile associated with a customer; receive information about a potential transaction from at least one of a wearable device or a merchant device; process the potential transaction by determining whether the potential transaction is authorized based on the received customer profile information and received potential transaction information; transmit the processed potential transaction result to a financial service provider system; and notify the wearable device and merchant device of the processed potential transaction authorization result. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the customer profile includes information indicating that at least one of: potential transactions associated with a particular merchant are authorized, potential transactions over a certain amount require additional authorization from a financial service provider, or potential transactions over a certain amount require additional authorization from the customer. 14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the customer profile further associates received potential transaction information with the customer and includes that information in the customer profile. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein: the customer profile information comprises historical information associated with a user; and determining whether the potential transaction is authorized further comprises comparing the potential transaction information with the historical information. 16. The system of claim 12 , wherein the received information includes biometric data collected through a biometric reader associated with the wearable device. 17. The system of claim 16 , wherein: the customer profile information comprises customer profile biometric data; and determining whether the potential transaction is authorized comprises comparing the received biometric data with the customer profile biometric data. 18. The system of claim 12 , wherein information about a potential transaction includes information associated with at least one of the wearable device or the merchant device. 19. The system of claim 18 , wherein determining whether the transaction is authorized based on the received customer profile information and received potential transaction information, further includes the information associated with at least one of the wearable device or the merchant device. 20. The system of claim 12 , wherein determining whether the transaction is authorized further requires an authorization confirmation by the customer.
