Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method, computer program product, and computing system for reactive encounter scanning is executed on a computing device and includes obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter. A request is received from a user concerning a specific medical condition. In response to receiving the request, the encounter information is processed to determine if the encounter information is indicative of the specific medical condition and to generate a result set. The result set is provided to the user.

What is claimed is: 1. A computer-implemented method for proactive encounter scanning, executed on a computing device, comprising: obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter, wherein the encounter information includes audio encounter information obtained from a first automated clinical documentation (ACD) client electronic device in a physical monitored space and machine vision encounter information obtained from a second ACD client electronic device in the physical monitored space, wherein the machine vision encounter information is obtained by an imaging system, wherein each of the first ACD client electronic device and the second ACD client electronic device is capable of obtaining the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information, and wherein at least one of the first and second ACD client electronic devices is configured to steer a beam towards a patient in the physical monitored space; utilizing a virtual assistant in a check-in area of the physical monitored space to audibly prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the audio encounter information from the first ACD client electronic device and the machine vision encounter information from the second ACD client electronic device associated with the audio encounter information during a pre-visit portion of the patient encounter and utilizing the virtual assistant in a check-out area of the monitored space to audibly prompt the patient to provide at least at least a second portion of the audio encounter information from the first ACD client electronic device and the machine vision encounter information from the second ACD client electronic device associated with the audio encounter information during a post-visit portion of the patient encounter; proactively processing the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information to determine if the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information is indicative of one or more medical conditions and to generate one or more result sets, wherein proactively processing the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information includes documenting and identifying one or more portions of the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information respectively that concern the one or more medical conditions, thus defining one or more condition-related encounter portions, and filtering the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information to emphasize the one or more condition-related encounter portions; providing the one or more result sets to a user, wherein providing the one or more result sets to the user includes rendering a visual representation of the one or more result sets including the one or more condition-related encounter portions as documented and emphasized that are indicative of the one or more medical conditions, wherein the one or more condition-related encounter portions is less than the one or more result sets in their entirety; and initiating an inquiry concerning the one or more medical conditions by providing a notification to a medical professional. 2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the one or more result sets includes: a first result set indicative of a first medical condition; and at least a second result set indicative of at least a second medical condition. 3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein providing the one or more result sets to the user includes: rendering an audible representation of the one or more result sets for the user. 4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein documenting includes transcribing. 5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the encounter information includes at least a portion of audio encounter information and machine vision encounter information from a previous patient encounter. 6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the imaging system includes at least one of an RGB imaging system, an infrared imaging system, an ultraviolet imaging system, a laser imaging system, a SONAR imaging system, a RADAR imaging system, and a thermal imaging system. 7. A computer program product residing on a non-transitory computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising: obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter, wherein the encounter information includes audio encounter information obtained from a first automated clinical documentation (ACD) client electronic device in a physical monitored space and machine vision encounter information obtained from a second ACD client electronic device in the physical monitored space, wherein the machine vision encounter information is obtained by an imaging system, wherein each of the first ACD client electronic device and the second ACD client electronic device is capable of obtaining the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information, and wherein at least one of the first and second ACD client electronic devices is configured to steer a beam towards a patient in the physical monitored space; utilizing a virtual assistant in a check-in area of the physical monitored space to audibly prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the audio encounter information from the first ACD client electronic device and the machine vision encounter information from the second ACD client electronic device associated with the audio encounter information during a pre-visit portion of the patient encounter and utilizing the virtual assistant in a check-out area of the monitored space to audibly prompt the patient to provide at least at least a second portion of the audio encounter information from the first ACD client electronic device and the machine vision encounter information from the second ACD client electronic device associated with the audio encounter information during a post-visit portion of the patient encounter; proactively processing the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information to determine if the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information is indicative of one or more medical conditions and to generate one or more result sets, wherein proactively processing the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information includes documenting and identifying one or more portions of the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information respectively that concern the one or more medical conditions, thus defining one or more condition-related encounter portions, and filtering the audio encounter information and the machine vision encounter information to emphasize the one or more condition-related encounter portions; providing the one or more result sets to a user, wherein providing the one or more result sets to the user includes rendering a visual representation of the one or more result sets including the one or more condition-related encounter portions as documented and emphasized that are indicative of the one or more medical conditions, wherein the one or more condition-related encounter portions is less than the one or more result sets in their entirety; and initiating an inquiry concerning the one or more medical conditions by providing a notification to a medical professional. 8. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein the one or more result sets includes: a first result set indicative of a first medical condition; and at least a second result set indicative of at least a second medical condition. 9. The computer program product of claim 7 wherein providing the one or more result sets
